If you want to watch good baseball, this is the game for you. The Yankees send out Max Fried to take on the Dodgers, and with the way Fried has been pitching, we'll back him to get the job done. Fried has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in any start this year. The Dodgers will definitely be the toughest test, but the Yankees can counter with a deep offense against a very hittable Tony Gonsolin.
Max Fried and his 1.29 ERA take the mound on Friday, so the Yankees have to feel good about their odds of limiting the Dodgers’ offensive output in the series opener. The Los Angeles Dodgers are known for their fearsome offense, but they have just a 7-10 record against left-handed starters. Tony Gonsolin gets the call for Dave Roberts’ squad and will face a New York lineup that his been fine but not otherworldly against RHP across the last 15 days (102 wRC+ and .313 wOBA). Both bullpens will be at maximum strength after an off day on Thursday. Roberts will have a quick hook with Gonsolin if he struggles, while Fried has an effective bullpen behind him (3.31 FIP since May 1). New York is 3-5 O/U in Fried’s last five starts, while L.A. is 1-3 O/U in Gonsolin’s last four.

Aaron Judge is a regular in my picks, and as you can see by the odds, it’s a regular occurrence for him to go deep. The 33-year-old is hitting .391 with 18 home runs and 47 RBI. Judge has gone deep twice in his last six contests, and tonight, revenge will be on his mind. The New York Yankees are set to begin a series with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the same team that beat them in the World Series last fall. Judge has only faced Tony Gonsolin twice, but he boasts a home run against the right-hander.

The two scariest lineups in baseball face off at Dodger Stadium tonight. The Yankees and Dodgers are first and second in the majors, respectively, in OPS and run first inning rate. The Dodgers will send Tony Gonsolin to the hill. He has an xERA of 4.74 through five starts and has pitched to a 5.40 ERA in the first inning. Yankees starter Max Fried has been dominant this season, pitching to a 1.29 ERA. However, his xERA is significantly worse at 3.35 and L.A. does a great job of hitting lefties.
