Los Angeles @ Chicago preview
Wrigley Field
Last Meeting ( Aug 2, 2013 ) LA Dodgers 6, Chi. Cubs 2
One of baseball's most storied franchises can wipe an 89-year-old club record from the books when the Los Angeles Dodgers aim for their 13th consecutive road win Saturday against the Chicago Cubs. The Dodgers beat the Cubs 6-2 on Friday, taking a 2-0 series lead and tying the franchise mark of 12 straight wins away from home set by the 1924 Brooklyn Robins. Los Angeles has won 28 of its last 35 games to open a 3 1/2-game lead over Arizona in the National League West.
The matchup features two rookie outfielders who have made a huge impact in a short time in 22-year-old Cuban phenom Yasiel Puig of the Dodgers and 23-year-old Dominican Junior Lake of the Cubs. Puig is hitting .371 with 11 homers in 52 games. Lake went 4-for-5 on Friday to raise his average to .358 and has four home runs and two four-hit games in his first 16 big-league contests.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Chris Capuano (3-6, 4.54 ERA) vs. Cubs RH Jeff Samardzija (6-9, 3.75)
Capuano has been extremely inconsistent, but he has enjoyed moments of brilliance with four starts over the past two months in which he did not allow a run. He threw 6 2/3 scoreless frames last time out against Cincinnati but didn't get a decision in a 1-0 win. The 34-year-old southpaw is 9-3 with a 3.35 ERA in 15 games (13 starts) against the Cubs.
Samardzija has struggled to command his splitter at times, but when it is on, he has been tough. That was the case last time out against Milwaukee, as he threw seven scoreless innings of three-hit ball and struck out seven in a no-decision. The 28-year-old is 1-1 with a 5.19 ERA in three games (one start) against Los Angeles.
WALK-OFFS
1. Dodgers 2B Mark Ellis is riding a 13-game hitting streak, the longest active streak in the National League.
2. Lake is the first Cubs player in the modern era (since 1900) with two four-hit performances in his first 16 career games.
3. Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez, who got a routine day off Friday, is 8-for-15 with two doubles against Samardzija.
