Chicago @ Minnesota preview

Target Field

Last Meeting ( Jun 25, 2012 ) Chi. White Sox 1, Minnesota 4

Kevin Youkilis played third base and batted second for the Chicago White Sox on Monday, going 1-for-4 in his first game since being acquired from the Boston Red Sox. With his first hit out of the way, Youkilis will look for his first win with Chicago on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins. The White Sox lost 4-1 in the series opener, but they’re still a half-game ahead of Cleveland in the American League Central. Chicago, which has scored one or less runs in five of its last eight games, moved second baseman Gordon Beckham to the No. 9 spot in the lineup upon Youkilis’ arrival.

The Twins placed closer Matt Capps on the 15-day disabled list Monday with right shoulder inflammation, and he’s not expected to begin a rehab assignment until the All-Star break. Jared Burton has recorded saves in each of the past two games, and he’ll share the closer’s role with Glen Perkins while Capps is out. Minnesota, which has won three of its last four games, improved to 12-10 in June with Monday’s win.

He has a 1.94 ERA in seven starts for Triple-A Rochester this season, but he’s struggled in six starts with the Twins, allowing nine home runs in just 28 innings.

After going 0-2 with a 8.04 ERA over his previous three starts, Floyd tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings last Wednesday against the Cubs for his first win since May 27. He struggled in a start against Minnesota on May 22, giving up nine runs over 3 2/3 innings.

About Units and “ROI”

Units are a standardized measurement used to determine the size of each of your bets relative to your bankroll. For example, if you have a bankroll of $200 and you bet 5% of your bankroll each time, each of your units is worth $10. A bettor with a $2000 bankroll who bets 5% per bet has units of $100. We use the number of units to standardize the amount the trend is up or down across different bet amounts.

ROI is the best indicator of success and measures how much you bet vs. how much you profited. Any positive ROI is good in sports betting with great long-term bettors sitting in the 5-7% range.
