PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Alex White (2-5, 5.56 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Joe Blanton (6-6, 4.93 ERA)
White struggled with his control in his last outing, permitting four walks in an eventual 8-2 loss to Oakland on Thursday. The 23-year-old is mired in a modest two-game losing skid after winning his previous three starts. White has yet to face the Phillies in his young career.
After a horrendous stretch in which he yielded at least five runs in as many games, Blanton righted the ship in his last outing. The 31-year-old tossed his second complete game of the season after scattering seven hits in a 6-1 triumph over Minnesota on Thursday. Blanton has won his lone career decision versus Colorado, but owns a 5.23 ERA and a gaudy 2.03 WHIP versus the Rockies.
