The Chicago White Sox attempt to complete a sweep of their three-game series against the host Oakland Athletics when the clubs meet in the finale Sunday. After capturing the final two contests of a three-game set at Milwaukee, Chicago won the first two games of this series to improve to 4-1 on its six-game road trip.
Avisail Garcia went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs while Melky Cabrera registered three hits and an RBI as the White Sox posted their second straight one-run victory. Billy Butler belted a two-run homer as Oakland suffered its third consecutive loss and ninth in 10 games. The Athletics dropped to 1-4 on their six-game homestand while their overall record at O.co Coliseum dipped to 5-13 - tying Texas for the worst such mark in the American League. Oakland also fell to 13-25 overall, putting it one-half game ahead of Milwaukee for the worst record in the majors.

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox RH Jeff Samardzija (2-2, 4.80 ERA) vs. Athletics LH Scott Kazmir (2-1, 2.78)
Samardzija has had several rough outings during his first season with Chicago, including Monday's start at Milwaukee in which he escaped with a no-decision despite being touched for seven runs - five earned - over six innings. The 30-year-old, who finished last year with Oakland, is 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA at home this year as opposed to 0-2 with a 6.48 ERA on the road. Samardzija has yet to face the Athletics in his career.
After emerging victorious in each of his first two starts this season, Kazmir has failed to get into the win column over his last five outings. The 31-year-old settled for a no-decision against Boston on Monday despite yielding only two runs in six innings. Kazmir has not fared well versus Chicago in his career, going 3-6 with a 5.35 ERA in 12 turns.

1. The White Sox have outscored the opposition 22-8 in the seventh inning this season while the Athletics have surrendered 37 runs in the frame.
2. Oakland's streak of consecutive games with an error reached 13 on Saturday, the longest such run for the club since April 7-21, 1983.
3. Garcia has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, going 15-for-42 in that span, and has not gone back-to-back contests without a hit since April 9 and 10.
