PSG face Atletico Madrid in the Club World Cup’s first big matchup on Sunday at the Rose Bowl. Fresh off a dominant 5-0 win over Inter in the Champions League final, PSG enter the tournament riding high after a historic treble-winning season.
Atletico, meanwhile, ended their La Liga campaign in disappointing fashion, finishing third after fading down the stretch, losing seven of their final 16 fixtures with a pair of draws.
PSG are a much stronger team than when they lost to Atletico in the group stage back in November. They’ve added Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and seen breakout performances from Desire Doue, while Fabian Ruiz has solidified the midfield. Even if Ousmane Dembele misses the game, PSG’s depth gives them the edge.
