Man City may be riding high after beating Liverpool, but a well-rested PSG side could bring them crashing back down to earth in a tight Champions League showdown.

Man City vs PSG predictions

My Man City vs PSG top pick: Man City not to win (56% probability)

A 3-0 win over Liverpool in their first game since the guilty verdict on 114 charges was a huge result for Man City. It was an impassioned game and one that bonded the unit, but I believe that performance will have taken a ton out of them, both mentally and physically, ahead of this visit from PSG.

Being anything but 100% against this PSG team is difficult enough, but that task is made tougher when they managed to rest eight of their likely 11 starters against Le Mans on Saturday. That freshness will give PSG the ability to get a result from this match, either a draw or the full three points.

My Man City vs PSG Over/Under pick: Under 3.5 (56% probability)

Given the attacking talent on both teams, it’s no wonder the market has swung to backing a high-scoring game, but I think it's gone too far.

Domestically, Man City have given up less than a goal per game defensively, while the Parisians have a back four in Nuno Mendes, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos and Willian Pacho who complement each other well.

The last meeting between the teams might have finished 4-2 to PSG, but over the previous five meetings in the past six years, that's the only game that finished with 4+ goals.

Both teams will respect each other and start cautiously, wary of giving up an early goal that could see them thrashed.

PSG to win

Under 2.5

This is an extension of the theory above. PSG’s brilliance will overcome a City team that has been drained by the outpouring of emotions in the Liverpool win, while the game will be a tighter and more defensively contested affair than the books believe.
