$$$$ THREAD CONCEPT - This thread is for all of us to share our expertise with everyone else to benefit the group.

THIS IS NOT A PICKING CONTEST!

PLEASE make special note of this! If you have an area of expertise, please make some $$$$ choices from your area of expertise when you have a game you are confident enough in to call it a "$$$$ PLAY". The difference between a PICK and a $$$$ PLAY is that a PICK is a game you like, a $$$$ PLAY is a game that you KNOW. If you are claiming your choice is a $$$$, and you really have NO true knowledge of that game, then you are just cheating us and posting your PICK just for attention and to see your name on the board.

RULES FOR POSTING - We will not track your $$$$ PLAY if you do not follow these rules. You are welcome to still post your PICK or card, but unless you do the things below, we won't be putting your $$$$ on the spreadsheet.

Only one $$$$  per day and a MAXIMUM of 4 per week.

A week starts on Mon and ends on Sun.

    - No buying points.

    - No other "line-manipulations" like teasers, etc.

    - No parlays

    - No props

    - $$$$ PLAYS need to be -129 or lower.  Anything -130 and over, take the -1.5 goals or runs.

    - Do not try to cheat on lines. We, as a group, are all over the lines and every time someone gives a stinky spread, it is always called out. If the line is off, the $$$$ doesn't go into the spreadsheet.

    AND THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!

You must give an ORIGINAL explanation as to why you KNOW this $$$$ PLAY will win. And don't just "stat" us to death. Tell us about the game. DO NOT COPY YOUR WRITE-UPS! People on this thread are all over the internet and will find your plagiarism. I guarantee it. You can use Last 10, ATS, etc., numbers to support your argument, but stats from a gambling website are not an explanation.

FOLLOW THESE RULES AND YOUR $$$$ PICK WILL GET TRACKED

Thank you for your understanding and your help in keeping this thread for the benefit of everybody, not just a place for you to blather out random picks and toot your own horn.

Bet it at (-6.5) tonight so I am getting this posted before I go to bed to anyone tailing can maybe get the same line......

    $$$$ = Colorado (-6.5) over Arizona State

This line is crazy low in my opinion.  Colorado is on a roll and trying everything they can to get into the Top-4 of the Pac-12 so they get a Pac-12 Tournament bye.  ASU is playing out the string and just had ANOTHER player quit the team.  This leaves them with 8 scholarship players, nothing to play for, and playing at high elevation with a short bench.  The second game at elevation (played at Utah the other night) is always said to be the one that gets you, and with only 7 decent players, they are going to be gassed and in foul trouble all game.  Colorado's 5 are better than all of ASU's 5.  ASU is very short on size and Pac-12 first-teamer Josh Scott will be able to do whatever he wants in the paint against the Devils.  Colorado's perimeter defense is strong as well and they should be able to slow down any attack ASU can muster from the perimeter.  Colorado is 15-1 at home and ASU is 3-8 on the road, with no wins over any team who is any good.  This could very easily be a 25-point blowout for Colorado.

    Good luck everyone.

I think we should go all in the colorado buffalo game. It is also my no$$$$ play of the day.

Az st lost their last 3 by a ton. Lost to az by 30+. Colorado just beat 9th ranked az. They are in the tourney but if they lose out, they might not so they have something to play for here.

Co only lost one game at home so that's impressive enough for me. I have other trends that points to colorado too but since im on the fon, im not typing out the tedious wk.
    Get the line low now.

Co -6.5 for no$$$$ for me as well.

Nba im playing dallas -6.5 too. Im starting to get picky with my plays. I'll save the rest for tailing instead. Good luck today fellas.

My best advice is to get out of Canada immediately...

    Just kidding (kind of)...

    1. Follow this thread if you want to see what good write-ups look like.  Most other threads just contain picks with no write-ups.

    2. Never trust anyone who uses the avatar of the guy with a soul patch...

    3. Watch line movements and don't bet early lines (unless you see a great one like Colorado - 6.5 today)

    4. Don't second guess yourself just because of something you read on this forum...A lot of intelligent people on this forum, but also a lot of idiots who just want attention.

    5. Don't trust anyone that says any of the following: "play of the year", "play of the decade", "take it to the bank", "boston college will cover"...

    6. Bankroll management is the only thing that really matters. Be prepared for losing streaks because they happen to everyone...

Pretty much just follow this thread and Gianfranco's 1st half / 2nd half OVERS system thread and you'll do fine... Don't get lost in all of the pointless threads that get started by people who just want attention... Good luck to you

That is a big play! also all times that Colorado started as favourite over ASU won the match and also covered.
COLO needs this win for the reason that you said. the need to catch the top-4 Pac-12 leaders and this is the match who can be closer to top-4.

In my opinion is a big play, they beated Arizona 3 days ago and this time is time to blowout Arizona State at home. without doubt this is a really $$$$ pick.

    BOL to all!

What up guys!  New to this site, yesterday actually was my first day.  Luckily i came across it.  Had a great day yesterday using some info from this site.  Went 4-1 with some big plays.  The one i lost was a dumb halftime bet i put in for Purdue to cover -6.5.  Should have won that one too! everyone knows those games that you should have won though so i won't go any further into that.  Anyhow thanks for all the awesome info.  hands down best site/forum i have found.

    $$$$  Cal -7 over USC
Love the line at -7.  Wish i could have jumped on it at -6.5 when it opened but i don't think it's going to be close anyways.  Cal is arguably the hottest team in the pac 12 right now.  Since dropping two games in a row on the road to Utah and colorado they have strung off 6 wins in a row.  4 of those games at home against Stanford 76-61, Oregon (#1 in the pac 12) 83-63, Oregon st 83-71 and UCLA 75-63.  4-0 ATS at home - and in all of those games except oregon st they covered the spread by a fairly large margin.  Their two wins on the road during this current streak against washington and washington st they covered the spread as well.  Leaving them at 6-0 ATS in last 6 games.  Since starting pac 12 play cal is undefeated at home.  In those home games they're 7-1 ATS.  On top of all that goodness Cal is playing to possibly tie for 1st in the pac 12 if Oregon drops one of their remaining three games.

Cal has unbelievable talent with with three NBA players, the two freshman phenols: Jaylen Brown and Ivan Raab as most expected have gotten better and better with experience.  Their third nba player senior leader Tyrone wallace just recently came back from a broken hand, he returned against oregon and that's when they really started to play well. Wallace who was a pac 12 1st teamer as a junior was coming off the bench in his first three games back but played major minutes, is now back in the starting lineup and has been tearing it up for them in all categories, points, rebounds and assists.  The mix of their senior leadership and new players coming around are going to be too much for USC to handle.
USC on the other hand has been pretty much the polar opposite of Cal.  Started off hot in the conference, they were in 1st place at one point but have been on a slippery slope as of late.  Losing 4 of their last 5 games.  The one win they had was at home vs colorado.  Since starting Pac 12 play they have only won 2 games on the Road and that was against Wash st the worst team in the pac 12 and UCLA who is 3rd from last in the pac.  USC is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

    @Sticks83 - very valid points.  Especially #'s 4&6.

@Holmey - Tailing you on the Buffs - 6.5.  Treated it as one of my $$$$ plays.  Also, I have a very strong play, not a $$$$ play on the Blackhawks -125 over the Capitals.  This should be one helluva game.

As always, GLTA.  Hear from ya next week.

As always, GLTA.  Hear from ya next week.

Had this pick highlighted before i read the thread. Locking it up now!
Thanks for the Utah pick yesterday!!
Also for what its worth Senior Day in Boulder!

GL!

IONA-12  (Not a money play)  to many points but Im betting it

Same situation as this past Friday. Need to win to try and grab top share of the metro. Monmouth playing Niagra which should be a blow out for them. IONA knows it and knows they need to do the same vs a near bottom of the pack team in Canisius. IONA should have an advantage on the glass and 3 ptrs. Free throws are almost a wash. I also think getting down by double digits to crappy Jaspers friday may have been a wake up call for the Gaels.

First $$$ pick ever Duke Pickem

Pitt 0-6 vs top 25 teams losing by an average of 11.5 points
Their best home wins are syracuse and davidson
Duke coming together at the right time
Point guard Thornton growing up both offensively and defensively
Ingram may be the best player in college, but will definitely be the best player in this game
With UnC looming Duke cannot afford a letdown
My system says Duke should be a 4.5-5 point favorite, yet its a pickem

I am an admitted Duke homer, but have no problem betting against them when i get edge.   The edge is with them this time......Lock me up for a maiden voyage!

Pitt looks like the sharp side today. They play well against crappy defenses ... Especially at home. I think they will be all jacked up today and lay the hammer down on that Ted Cruz look-alike.
