September brings arouund a lot of tough and crazy endings to games. The Tigers blew a 5-2 8th inning lead for a tough loss in extra innings but I don't think I have seen something as ugly as Ian Kinsler and the Texas Rangers blowing the game in the bottom of the 9th. The Rangers had a 3-2 8th inning lead and after blowing that, had a 4-3 9th inning lead. The Twins tied it in the 9th with a leadoff HR and found themselves with a man on second and 2 out. Benoit jammed the hitter and he hit a soft bloop liner to Kinsler at 2B. He took a few steps back ready to make a routine catch that a first grader could make. He tried to act cool making the catch without using two hands, which he easily could have, and simply dropped it. The runner from second had passed 3B and stopped running thinking the inning was over but when Kinsler dropped it, it bounced away and the runner scored. When I say routine bloop, a dog could've caught it. I have never seen a game blown on such a routine simple play. Oh well, hopefully it evens out before the end of the season. Went 2-4 yesterday (looked like it was going to be a nice day) and dropped 1.18 units..nothing disasterous. I can't believe the Phillies can still get over 88.5 wins for the season. Mets' fans must be panicking with the shrinking lead!

For Mets. I am not panicking. I am concerned.
 
No matter how bad they've played last 2 games, I find extremely difficult to believe that Mets will have a losing record with Nationals and Marlins and one game with Cardinals.
 
Mets are in driver's seat. They will eventually win division. Lawrence was not the answer yesterday.

Game - I am a big Phillie fan and I am just waiting for them to choke again down the stretch but I just have a feeling that they might do it this year - at least the wild card. However, you are spot on with the Cardinals today because even though Hamels is coming back tonight he is only supposed to throw 60 pitches and then that bullpen comes in to play. It might even be worth a 5 inning play because once those long relievers come in for the Phils who knows what the hell will happen. Good luck on the rest of your plays.

As a Phillies fan who was at saturdays game at Shea... I would just like to say while it was sweet sweeping you guys 3 times this season, and dominating the season series 12-6, I think you guys have this division on lock.  You all just better hope we don't take the wild card, because then you're in big, big trouble.

PS, I witnessed 2 Phillies fans get straight-up sucker-punched by Mets fans on saturday, as well as seeing a number of Mets fans rooting for players to be injured.

Im from the area and New York fans SOME, not all are trash.
 
Try going to a Jets game 10x's worse.
 
Nothing like being at the Jets game last year to watch the Colts win. Had shit thrown at me. Its funny how quick they turn and boo the team. I used to live near Philly and they are the worst, but when Chad Pennington went down for the Jets they were actully cheering. Lack of class at its best.

Burnett can get wild but has been outstanding of late. In his last 50 2/3 innings, he has allowed just 25 hits , 10 earned runs (a 1.77 ERA) and has a 46:18 K:BB ratio. Active Red Sox hitters are only 16 for 97 (.166) lifetime against Burnett with just 8 walks in 105 plate appearances. Meanwhile, Lester has struggled in 4 out of 5 road starts and has accumulated an ERA close to 5.00 in 9 starts (3 of those starts against TB and 2 against Baltimore). Toronto crushes left handers, hitting almost 50 points higher against southpaws.

Good luck GH.  Toronto without Glaus and Overbay worries me a bit.  They hit lefties well at home but Burres shut them down Friday night.  Leaning towards Cinci.  Harang has good success against the Cubs this year and Zambrano is pitching on 3 days rest.  I'll probably play the 1st 5 innings to avoid another Cinci bullpen meltdown.  BOL

Yesterday were some hard loses.  I was really liking the Rangers and went big on them.

like the Cards play.....team showed some life at the plate late last night.....Phils pen is shot and Hamels can only go 55-60 pitches today

   Not so sure what you see in the Cards today ?   Cards have dropped 11 of their last 12  and send a relief pitcher against Hamels .   Plus Phillie is on a roll .
 
    I can see your Blue jays coming in . Boston with out Youklis and M. Ramirez are dreadul with the bats.

Hamels will go 4-5 innings at best...the Phils' pen is horrible..almost blew an 11 runs lead yesterday...in Wellemeyer's last 12 2/3 innings he has allowed 3 hits and 0 earned runs...this line is super inflated as if Hamels had just pitched 4 consecutive shutouts...makes no sense....tremendous value!

GH...what do you think of the over 11 in the yankees game? Alot of the batters on Baltimore have awesome numbers vs Moose, and you gotta figure the Yankees will score at least 5 runs....I'm thinking both teams score at least 5 runs each...Joba still won't be able to pitch tonight cause he pitched 2 innings 2 nights ago in Boston...and we all know about Baltimore pen...
