Actually, it's a story of great debate..I am a bit of a baseball historian and have read a lot on the topic...many say Pipp sat out due to a headache but I read an interview of Pipp's and he admitted he had been beaned in spring training, missed 2 weeks and when he came back, Gehrig was just better than him and 10 years younger. There is definitely confusion about it, but most say he had a headache, took some aspirin and sat out. Some say that is urban legend. Good stuff CollectNOW!
