Ok, for what it is worth..1) forget 'getting it back'...'it' is now the books $, and no longer yours. Chase losses, and get your ass kicked like you never dreamed feasible. 2) a 5K BR means you have $50 Units (divide your BR daily by 100, and that is your unit value)... 3) play up to 3 units per day (exception is when you played and won early games). this can be increase by 0.5 units per day per winning streak, and decrease 0.5 units per day of losing streak (you progressively bet more on hot, less on cold streaks. 3) play 90% MINIMUM of your action at any given time on straight plays (and NOT heavy plus lines. Heavy plus lines are the same as parlays in their likelihood to profit.. 4) Track your +/- units (on Excel), your +/- $ profit/loss, your win %, your streak tendencies. 5) Never play gms that you have emotional attachment to (good/bad) i.e. favorite teams, hated opponents of favorite teams ect. 6) if you find yourself getting nervous, angry, excited, elated while your games are being played...lower the amount you are playing. If you are doing this for the money (not as most ppl do for the adrenaline) then you should be completely emotionless (or as close as humanly possible) 7) post handicap your wins and your losses, as well as evaluating your overall excel spreadsheet to look for strengths and weaknesses in your play. 8) live by the law that a bad bet not played is every bit as good as a good bet wagered..
Do these things and you will eventually be a winning player, and will not lose much at all as you get there..
peace

Oh, and DON'T 'buy' picks... I can assure you that Billy Walters (the most legendary handicapped of our time doesn't sell em b/c he KNOWS they will produce profit. Anyone who KNOWS their plays will produce a profit AIN'T SHARING (and adversely moving their lines)...peace

Wow great advice. When I have the time I need to break that system down. I have been chasing. You obviously know this works. Seems like I loose a lot on baseball. Is one sport easier to cap than others. Thanks for taking the time.

Sir you are making the mistake of thinking of $50 like YOU think of $50, having never asked him what his finances look like. He said he had a 5k BR (which I assume is not tied to his personal finances...if it is tied, then it is not really a 5K BR and he posted incorrect info). to someone working at McDonald's for a living 50 a wager is a kings ransom, but to Bill Gates it is pocket change for a week. Betting 3% of your BR at a given time is standard protocol for a winning player.... sorry, but your post lacks foresight and coherence. BOL

everyone is different, personally I play all the major sports... and do well (but everyone 'says' that, so take it for what it is worth). The main thing is to watch the games (so many dont... if you can't watch them consistently, don't bet them), study stats like a job and then your 'gut' will let you know (it is not really your 'gut' b/c you studied stats for hours and hours and hours, and your head will tell you when something makes sense or deserves extra caution.....hope this helps....

Thanks for the picks. Man those lines look like traps. I like San Fran to continue a push. Cali is hot and muggy not sure about those totals. Good luck though

Where were you in December. I have learned my lesson. They don't give up either. Every Vinni and Tony has my number now. Stupid me.

Also.... remember, if you are excessively emotional about your play, and fail to stick to your set BR management rules (whatever YOU make them, I simply put a few out there for you to contemplate).. then many on here would be right and you should quit. If you lost your 50K b/c you were ignorant to proper BR management, followed bad advice, and just did not know what you were doing, then I would not recommend that you stop. I cap professionally (my only source of income) and love it, and the lifestyle it affords me. If you don't set rules, or can't follow them......you will quit, or it will quit you......peace brah

Good stuff from KScapping. One more thing, stay away from covers. Sometimes I like a play the night before, then come on here the next day and somehow people here convince me not to play those games right before game time and end up wasting my own picks. Sometimes even tailing others and end up losing when I should have just went with my own picks and won.
Any advice for this? I think the best is to stay away from covers. Nothing being said on covers here in the forums will help you all that much more than what you probably already know or don't know.
