How do you stabilize oil thus gas prices when the controller of supply is an oligopoly?

We have no control over supply so we have no control over pricing.

we can drill like its our first box and control the supply a touch better.

Im not saying Obama causes high oil prices but I do think he uses the high prices to promote his 'green' agenda. I think he has more incentive to try to keep prices high than he does to get them lowered again.

Stabilize gas prices around $2/gallon and you will see an increase in jobs, tax revenue, and overall non necessity item purchasing.

Well how about we look at supply and demand..are we able to cover our domestic consumption? No..

So why are you faulting funding alternative solutions to our supply issue?

Should we just do nothing like Reagan and Bush's did and hope the Saudi's and Iranians and Venezuelans start liking us and feel pity?

Everyday, you are wrong on so many points, its actually boring correcting you.

So the 'median' temp went up a degree and a half and it can all be blamed on fossil fuels and zero blame on the volcanoes that erupt annually. A degree and a half and all the scientists want to bend over and grab their ankles. 

I agree we need to save rainforests and forrests in general because thats part of the earths mechanism to 'scrub' pollutants out of the atmosphere.

I'm willing to guess that the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs and the volcanoes that have erupted over the last million or so years have contributed more pollutants than mankind has and the earth has dealt with it just fine.

We have enough supply under our feet to last 100 years and by then we should have found the alternative technology to replace.

Im no expert but we should be less than 50 years away from that next alternative.

I say get our economy out of the fragile state were in...get the ship going the right direction then push your tree hugger agenda.

We can do small things now but even if you invent that next technology nobody will be able to afford to purchase it.

Unlike those government bashers, the reality is that the gas tax is for roads maintenance and it has been insufficient for the last decade, it has been subsidized billions of dollars.

Keep in mind that as the cost of oil goes up, so does the cost of asphalt and the goo they use to do crack repair.

That is subjective garbage..sorry but if anything the roads need more maintenance not less.

So I guess I didnt see them repave I 15 3 times in my county 3 times in the last 10 years and the third time it didnt last 2 years because they ripped that up to put concrete down and add more lanes.

They are putting the concrete down as we speak but that doesnt erase the fact that they could have used much better planning and repaved other roads/highways that needed it.

So because in your county they are putting down concrete means that in general public works employees intentionally repave across the country?

That is just crazy..and who did you ask as to why they are putting in concrete? Maybe the concrete is less expensive to repair and more cost effective? 

Nah..it is a lazy union or city worker trying to sponge the taxpayer.

If we could cut spending on things like Food Stamps and use our income tax money to pay for repaving roads/highways, and did away with the taxes on a gallon of gas, that would lower the costs of a lot of things (like food)  A lot of people would lose Food Stamp money, but at least they would pay less for food.

First off you might want to go check your numbers on how much oil we actually have.
secondly energy companies already got new forms of energy, but they arent gonna release those until they use up every last drop of oil on the planet. Why would they.  Am sure this is way over your head to understand thou.

Its unreal the mindset of these guys.  He basing his opinion on what has happened with one road near his house, yet he hasnt bothered to ask his politicians or city why they have repaved

And of course Wall, its those damn union workers again who control what roads get paved. Shame on these union workers, they are responsible for everything that goes bad in the country.
I think union workers shot JFK.

Blame the union guy as usual, while the corporate welfare scumbags continue to fleece the tax payer

Its funny how some of you sound shocked when you see stuff like this.

This is sad part of what happens in society when people cant find work in order to take care of themselves.

Its only gonna get worse and dont for one minute think one of your own family members might need these stamps down the road, due to even less jobs being in our country.

instead of clamoring for people to suckle off the govt, why not clamor for education and skills training for those in need so they can find gainful employment?  heaven forbid someone actually has to work for their well being.

Ok genius, how much oil is it that we have left under our feet?

I drive around and see what roads they repave. I know they don't prioritze correctly and we all know that budgets are made based on last years expendatures. You don't think there is massive exploitation of that procedure?

Heres a thought  contact your local city or state govt and ask why the roads are being repaved since you are now an expert in road repair.  Is there anything the great insurance agent doesnt know?

He also believes that insurance agents are the only ones who are under paid and deserve more money, because he never eve suggests himself taking a pay cut, so the costs of insurance can go down.  Nope never says that

You mean like when i said people on welfare are nothing next to the corporate welfare scumbags stealing trillions from the tax payers and you say jack shit about that.

Like i have already said before, if roads are getting paved when you dont think they should be, why the hell dont you complain to your local city or state govt offices and found out the answer, instead of whining about it on some gambling forum {because am sure that will solve the problem}


Am not an expert in road repair like you are, but if certain roads in my city were always getting redone i would surely contact the right people to find out why.

I do know one thing with 100 percent certainty, what ever roads get repaved, union workers didnt decide that.  They just did the work they were told to do, which am sure in your mind these guys should be paid around what 10 bucks an hour, because its way easier then sitting at a desk selling insurance.
