NHL Player Props & Best Bets for Today, October 14: Hungry For Apples

Nick Suzuki hasn't scored yet this season, but he's been busy in other ways, facilitating goals for his teammates. We like him to tally at least one assist again tonight as part of our favorite NHL player props.

Our best NHL player props for Tuesday, October 14

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Prop #1: Nick Suzuki Over 0.5 assists

-115 at BET99

Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki is among the team's most vital pieces. The 26-year-old is showing just that early on in this young 2025-26 season, tallying five assists in three contests. While he’s yet to score, Suzuki has had a hand in numerous goals.

Last season, Suzuki tallied 59 helpers in 82 games for the Habs. He’s registered at least 40 assists in each of the last three seasons, serving as one of Montreal’s top playmakers. The Canadiens face the Seattle Kraken tonight in their home opener, and Suzuki collected two helpers in two meetings with them last season.

Also, 33 of his assists came at the Bell Centre in 2024-25.

Prop #2: William Nylander Over 0.5 assists

-105 at BET99

William Nylander will have an even bigger workload this season after the departure of Mitch Marner, and there’s no reason to believe he won’t live up to the hype. The Swede is already doing his part, scoring once and tallying three helpers in three appearances. He’s cashed the Over in assists of two of those contests.

Nylander started the campaign with a goal and two helpers against the Habs before also setting up another goal against the Detroit Red Wings. Playing at home is a clear advantage for Nylander, as he had 25 goals and 25 assists at Scotiabank Arena last season compared to 20 goals and 14 helpers on the road.

The Toronto Maple Leafs face the Nashville Predators tonight, and Nylander has seven assists in 15 career games against them.

Prop #3: Cutter Gauthier Over 3.5 shots on goal

+115 at BET99

Cutter Gauthier is looking to build off an impressive 2024-25 campaign where he scored 20 times and tallied 24 helpers. He’s off to a good start, already netting twice in just two games. What’s stood out most is how many chances he’s creating.

Gauthier has 14 SOG in just two games. He’s easily cashed the Over in both contests, even putting nine pucks on net in a 7-6 OT win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. He also registered five shots on target in the season opener against the Seattle Kraken.

The youngster is playing confident hockey at the moment, and I don’t see any reason for that to change against the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are allowing 30.7 SOG per night.
