Oilers vs Blues prediction

Oilers vs Blues Best bet: Oilers moneyline (-140)

The Edmonton Oilers are beginning to show signs of morphing into the wagon that went all the way to the Stanley Cup Final a year ago, with an active 4-1-2 stretch. Meanwhile, the St. Louis Blues have dropped seven straight.

St. Louis doesn’t have the same star power jumping the boards as Edmonton, and the gap will be all the more increased if Blues No. 1 center Robert Thomas (upper body) is out of the lineup again tonight.

While Edmonton has had its forward lines in the blender all season, superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl continue to put up points, and the power play has been cooking at 47.4%. This could prove to be a particular special-teams edge for the Oil, too.

St. Louis sports a 31st-ranked 61.1 penalty-kill percentage during its seven-game skid, and a 69.7% mark for the campaign.

Of course, the Blues have also allowed a league-high 4.57 goals per game during the drought.

Oilers vs Blues same-game parlay

Edmonton winger Jack Roslovic is playing offensive minutes and has found the scoresheet in three of the past four games, with a pair of goals and assists. He’s jumping the boards with the No. 1 power-play unit and has tilted the ice in his favor at 5-on-5 with a respectable 52.9 Corsi For percentage during the highlighted four-game stretch.

Roslovic has also been a consistent shooter all season, with two or more shots in six consecutive games, and ranks second on the Oil in shots and fourth in attempts per 60 minutes.
