Islanders vs Jets Prediction, Picks & Same-Game Parlay for Tonight’s NHL Game

With the Islanders in the midst of a laborious seven-game road trip, the Jets are in a prime position to capitalize and extend their modest win streak to three games. We like the Over on the game total best of all, though.

After an ugly losing streak that dropped them into last place in the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets will look to string together three straight wins when they host the New York Islanders.

My Islanders vs. Jets predictions and NHL picks expect enough offense at the Canada Life Centre to push this Over the total on Tuesday, January 13.

Islanders vs Jets prediction

Islanders vs Jets best bet: Over 5.5 (-115)

The Winnipeg Jets' nosedive to the bottom of the league standings mercifully came to an end with a win over LA, snapping that brutal 11-game losing skid. They then followed that up with a win over New Jersey.

Winnipeg hasn’t won three straight since the end of October, but it would go a long way to get them back into the Wild Card picture, as they trail the final spot by nine points, with six teams in front of them.

They might be catching the New York Islanders at just the right time. New York will be playing its third game of a mammoth seventh-game road trip, and it's gone to OT in three of their last four contests.

While the Isles have a 9-0 win over the Devils and a 2-1 SO win over Nashville, they’ve allowed at least three goals in three of their last five games, including seven in a blowout loss to Utah.

The Jets have scored at least 4+ goals in back-to-back wins, and they’re flirting with a Bottom-10 goals against figure, tied at 14th at 3.11. They’ve also cashed the Over in five of their last six starts, all five of those games with a 5.5 total.

Despite ranking lower than the Jets in goals for (2.89), New York has cashed the Over in five of its last seven, and the teams have topped the total in four of five.

Islanders vs Jets same-game parlay

Cole Perfetti has been prominent in the offensive zone for the Jets during this two-game fun run, racking up a pair of assists in each of the two games. He also has two assists in four career games against the Isles.

Simon Holmstrom is already on a season-best 3-game goal streak, after potting two in a win over the Wild last game.

He’s only matched that streak once in his career, but taking a flier on this hot hand pushes this SGP to +2000 odds. Holmstrom has two goals in six career games against the Jets.
