Flyers vs Blackhawks Prediction, Picks & Same-Game Parlay for Tonight’s NHL Game

The Blackhawks have not won any of their games since Connor Bedard went down with an injury, and they aren't going to snap that streak tonight against Travis Konecny, Trevor Zegras, and the Flyers.

The Chicago Blackhawks host the Philadelphia Flyers in the final game of TNT’s tripleheader before the holiday break.

Chicago has been in free fall, and my Flyers vs. Blackhawks predictions expect this trend to continue.

Read on for my NHL picks for Tuesday, December 23.

Flyers vs Blackhawks prediction

Flyers vs Blackhawks best bet: Flyers moneyline (-120)

The Chicago Blackhawks enter this contest amid a five-game losing streak. This poor play is the result of multiple factors.

First, the team is missing Connor Bedard, who sustained a shoulder injury a few weeks ago, and the offense has been lost without him.

In four games without Bedard, Chicago is 0-4 and averaging just 1.75 goals per game.

Even with Bedard in the lineup, the Blackhawks have struggled all over the ice. This season, they rank second-to-last in expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60) and 28th in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60).

Subsequently, Chicago ranks last in expected goal share. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Flyers outrank the Blackhawks in each of those three key analytical categories.

The only reasons for a close moneyline in this matchup are Chicago’s home-ice advantage and the fact that Spencer Knight is expected to draw the start in goal.

That said, Philadelphia carries a higher road winning percentage than Chicago’s home winning percentage, and Knight is winless over his past three starts.

Flyers vs Blackhawks same-game parlay

There may not be a better scoring candidate than Trevor Zegras, who leads the team in goals and has found the back of the net in five of his past seven games.

There is also a strong correlation with Travis Konecny recording an assist, given that he skates alongside Zegras on the first line and has assisted on three of Zegras’ past four goals.

Flyers vs Blackhawks SGP

  • Flyers moneyline
  • Trevor Zegras anytime goal
  • Travis Konecny 1+ assists
