The Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets meet for the second time this week on Friday, October 24, and this time the two teams will hit the ice at Canada Life Centre.

My top Flames vs. Jets predictions and NHL picks are calling for another low-scoring game between the Canadian clubs tonight.

Flames vs Jets prediction

Flames vs Jets Best bet: Under 5.5 (+100)

The Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets rarely play high-scoring games, with both clubs having long-standing trends to the Under. Winnipeg just topped Calgary, 2-1, at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Monday, too.

Calgary has scored the fewest goals per game this season, and Winnipeg has allowed the third fewest-goals per game, while also generating the fewest expected goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5.

Additionally, the Jets were just shut out by the Seattle Kraken on Thursday, so this is a back-to-back spot.

I’m also anticipating the improved play from Calgary No. 1 Dustin Wolf to continue. He’s stopped 51 of 55 shots for a rock-solid .927 save percentage across his past two starts.

Similarly, while Winnipeg will be turning to backup Eric Comrie, he’s been excellent in the role with a .916 SV% and 2.37 GAA over 21 games with the Jets dating back to the beginning of last season.

Finally, if you take a quick peek at these two depth charts, the offensive firepower is sparse.

Flames vs Jets same-game parlay

While Winnipeg came up empty Thursday, the Jets won the possession and expected goals battle at 5-on-5 and also topped the Flames on Monday, as noted. Calgary doesn’t have the same secondary scoring or defensive depth jumping the boards, either, so I expect Winnipeg to return to the win column tonight.

Turning to Calgary center Nazem Kadri, he’s recorded three or more shots in five of the past six games and is well on his way to leading the Flames in both shots and attempts for the third consecutive season.

Of course, Kadri also logs top offensive minutes on the top line and No. 1 power-play unit, and the Jets have surrendered the eighth-most shots per game to start the year.
