Canucks vs Blues Prediction, Picks & Same-Game Parlay for Tonight’s NHL Game

The Canucks are hampered by injuries, and Jake DeBrusk hasn't had much success. The winger is getting his shots off, though, so we're backing him to clear his SOG prop against the Blues tonight.

The Vancouver Canucks visit the St. Louis Blues with a laundry list of injuries, as key players like Quinn Hughes and Conor Garland did not join the team on their road trip.

That opens the door for secondary scorers like Jake DeBrusk to step up.

I’ll explain why I’m expecting a shoot-first mentality from DeBrusk tonight in my Canucks vs. Blues predictions and NHL picks for Thursday, October 30.

Canucks vs Blues prediction

Canucks vs Blues Best bet: Jake DeBrusk Over 2.5 shots on goal (+130)

It’s been a rocky first month of the season for the Vancouver Canucks, who have one win in their last five and injuries to eight roster players, including captain Quinn Hughes and leading scorer Conor Garland.

It’s also been a slow start to the campaign for Jake DeBrusk, who has just two goals and four points in 11 games. However, there have been some positive signs for the Canucks winger as he leads the team with 33 shots on net, and I’m banking on that trend to continue tonight vs. the St. Louis Blues.

DeBrusk is averaging 3.3 shots on net per game this year and has logged Over 2.5 SOG in three of his last four outings. He also ranks highly among all skaters in high-danger chances (15th) and expected goals (22nd).

The Canucks forward has been snakebitten, shooting just 6.1% on the season, but the chances continue to come. Look for DeBrusk to lead the charge for a depleted Canucks offense.

Canucks vs Blues same-game parlay

Brock Boeser’s shot line is set at just 1.5, a pretty low bar for the Canucks sharpshooter. Boeser has 2+ shots in seven of nine games this year.

I’m also taking Under 5.5 goals tonight as both teams are without key scorers. Hughes and Garland are out for Vancouver, while Robert Thomas and Jake Neighbours are sidelined for St. Louis.

The Canucks are averaging just 2.55 goals per game (28th) while the Blues are at 2.90 (22nd).
