Avalanche vs Golden Knights prediction

Avalanche vs Golden Knights best bet: Colorado Avalanche moneyline (-150)

There is no denying that the Colorado Avalanche are the best team in hockey. This season, they lead the league in wins, points, goals for, goals allowed, and point differential.

Colorado has also been dominant analytically, ranking first in expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60), third in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60), and first in expected goal share.

No other team ranks in the top three in all three of those key categories. The Avalanche has also received elite goaltending from Mackenzie Blackwood, who is projected to start Saturday evening.

Through 14 appearances this season, Blackwood is 11-1-1 with a commanding .924 save percentage and a 2.16 goals-against average. Meanwhile, Carter Hart is expected to start for the Vegas Golden Knights.

Hart’s numbers have been strong since returning to professional hockey this season, but he has essentially taken advantage of weaker offenses.

The lone time he faced a team ranked in the top 10 in xGF/60, the Edmonton Oilers, Hart surrendered four goals on 21 shots for a .810 save percentage in a 4-3 loss.

Avalanche vs Golden Knights same-game parlay

If Colorado is to win this game, it will need to score goals. A strong candidate is Brock Nelson, who has found the back of the net eight times over his past 12 games.

There is also a strong correlation with Valeri Nichushkin recording an assist, given that he skates alongside Nelson on the second line and has assisted on two of Nelson’s past three goals.
