The Denver Broncos wrap up their NFL preseason slate Friday night at home when they host the Minnesota Vikings.
With backups expected to eat up most of the playing time, my Vikings vs. Broncos prediction leans on a Denver team that's deeper and more talented across the board.
Action gets underway at 9 p.m. ET from Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, CO. Follow below for my NFL picks.

TOP PICK
Who will win Vikings vs Broncos: Broncos -3.5
The Denver Broncos quarterbacks have plenty to play for, with Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger battling for the QB2 spot on the depth chart, while Audric Estimé, Jaleel McLaughlin and Blake Watson compete for backup RB reps.
The Minnesota Vikings have their own QB2 battle between JJ McCarthy and Carson Wentz, but the Vikings are still in flux as they integrate a new QB. They could rely on five rookie contributors in Week 1.
Denver has more cohesion, depth, and continuity under Sean Payton, while Minnesota faces a steeper adjustment. Add the Mile High factor, and the Broncos have a sizable edge in this preseason finale.
I’d back the Broncos up to -4.5.
Vikings vs Broncos Over/Under pick: Under 37.5
Denver essentially ran it back, returning 20 of 22 starters from its AFC title team and resigning 17 key free agents. That continuity should make its backups better equipped to handle extended preseason reps, particularly on defense.
That unit should rebound after getting lit up by the Packers, especially against a Minnesota offense that's managed just 16 points in two games.
Meanwhile, the Vikings’ defense has been good this preseason, allowing 23 points across two outings, and Sean Payton should keep things vanilla in the finale, keeping explosive plays to a minimum. This has all the makings of a low-scoring affair.
