Saquon Barkley had a chance to go for the all-time rushing record last week against his former team, but the Philadelphia Eagles decided to focus on the playoffs rather than individual success. He’s now had a week of rest to get ready for Sunday’s NFL Wild Card matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles started the regular season against the Packers in Brazil. They hope this Wild Card Weekend matchup is the start of a deep playoff run in Philadelphia. Barkley ran for 109 yards on 24 carries in his Birds debut, including two rushing touchdowns.
That Week 1 matchup in Brazil set the tone for Barkley for the rest of the season. It was the first of 11 games with at least 100 rushing yards. He did go over this 103.5 total in all 11 of those contests.
The Green Bay Packers were among the best-rushing defenses in the regular season, with 99.4 yards per game. However, they allowed some of the better running backs they played to go over the century mark.
Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, Kyren Williams, and Joe Mixon all had at least 100 yards against Green Bay, and Aaron Jones racked up 93 as well.
The Birds should be looking to get the ball into Barkley’s hands as much as possible, with Jalen Hurts just coming out of concussion protocol this week. The bruising back will get the bulk of the carries and has the ability to break off a long run to get a sizeable chunk of the 104 yards needed here.
