The Giants have been perfect at home in tight spreads, and a favorable pass-rush matchup makes New York the side to back against the Saints, per our NFL expert.

The New York Giants have been reliable in tight home contests, boasting a 3-0 straight-up record when the point spread lands between -3 and +3.

That home trend anchors my top Saints vs. Giants predictions ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff at MetLife Stadium, where New York is favored by 1.5 points with a 45.5-point total and several key matchup edges to target.

Let's dive into my NFL picks for October 18.

 TOP Pick
Saints vs Giants prediction today: Giants moneyline

Give me the New York Giants moneyline (50%) up to 55% because they have a better coach and defense than the New Orleans Saints.

The Giants are 3-0 straight-up at home in the -3 to +3 spread range, with an +8.3 scoring margin, including wins over the Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, and Arizona Cardinals.

The common thread is that John Harbaugh is the more proven coach than his opponent, and that's the case again here.

New Orleans rushed for under 100 yards in four games, and losing LT Kelvin Banks and RB Travis Etienne makes it harder to exploit New York's weak run defense.

Plus, the Saints are 27th in defensive EPA per play and 31st in defensive success rate, according to RBSDM.com.

Covers COVERS INTEL: ESPN's team win-rate rankings put the Giants fifth in pass-rush win rate and the Saints 26th in pass-block win rate. That's the strength-on-weakness matchup I'm trusting most.

Saints vs Giants combo

This combo cashes if New York’s best offensive players drive the win.

Giants WR Malik Nabers can keep drives alive and stretch New Orleans’ secondary, giving QB Jameis Winston an easy first option whenever NYG needs a play.

If Nabers piles up yardage, New York will be in position for Cam Skattebo to finish drives near the goal line.

That’s the connection between all three legs. Nabers moves the offense, Skattebo cashes in scoring opportunities, and the Giants turn those possessions into enough points to win at home.

If New York’s offense runs through those two, the moneyline should take care of itself.

Saints vs Giants combo

  • New York's moneyline
  • Cam Skattebo anytime touchdown
  • Malik Nabers 70+ receiving yards

Saints vs Giants touchdown scorer: Cam Skattebo

As long as Cam Skattebo's anytime touchdown probability stays at 50% or lower, I'm in.

Skattebo's overtime fumble nearly cost the Giants last week, so there may be some incentive to get him involved early and restore his confidence.

More importantly, New Orleans has allowed the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL and ranks 30th in defensive stuff rate, according to Pro.NFL.com.

If Skattebo gets carries inside the five-yard line, this is exactly the kind of matchup where he can finish the drive.

Saints vs Giants player prop: Malik Nabers 70+ receiving yards

New York WR Malik Nabers is on a heater right now, and his 70+ receiving yards prop is good up to 74+ yards. Nabers has 17 catches on 27 targets for 233 yards and two touchdowns over the last two games.

All five of New Orleans's starting defensive backs have a failing grade at Pro Football Focus. The Saints rank 26th in defensive dropback EPA per play and 27th in defensive success rate, per RBSDM.com.

Between NOLA's bad secondary and QB Jameis Winston building trust with him, I'm predicting Nabers has a big game for a third consecutive week.
