The NFC Championship is a West Coast affair with the Seattle Seahawks welcoming the rival Los Angeles Rams back to Lumen Field on Sunday night.

The Pacific Northwest can throw a lot at you in the winter months, beyond the deafening crowd noise from the infamous “12”.

Here’s my Rams vs. Seahawks weather report and what it could mean for the NFL odds ahead of January 24.

Rams vs Seahawks weather forecast

The current forecast for Seattle calls for partly cloudy skies for this 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

Temperatures are in the low-40s with sustained winds barely blowing at 1 mph. Gusts could peak at 7 mph, blowing West from corner to corner at Lumen Field.

Extended forecasts showed a chance of rain Sunday earlier in the week, but updated models have 9% chance of precipitation Sunday evening. Conditions will be noisy, but clean on the synthetic turf in the Emerald City.

How Rams vs Seahawks weather impacts the odds

The weather won’t really have anything to say for the NFC Championship odds or action on the field.

Sure, the Los Angeles Rams are a warm-weather team playing outdoors, but game-time conditions are far better than Los Angeles first two postseason games (at Carolin in the rain/wind, at Chicago in cold/snow/wind).

Crowd noise at Lumen Field is something opponents have to plan for. However, it’s nothing new to Sean McVay and the Rams.

Venues as loud as Lumen Field can have an impact on opposing playcalling, especially at the line of scrimmage. Snap counts and any adjustments or audibles can be difficult to hear, so you will see erratic snaps and penalties for false starts, illegal motion, and delay of game due to communication issues.

The Rams are one of the least penalized teams in the NFL, including the second fewest false start infractions.

Rams vs Seahawks player props to watch

As mentioned, the weather doesn’t present any edges or advantages for sports bettors in the NFC Championship Game.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford was perfectly comfortable in Lumen Field back in Week 16, throwing for 457 yards and three touchdowns in a wild overtime finish. While Sunday’s game will be about 10 degrees colder, it won’t have an impact.
