NFL Bet Now or Bet Later Picks for Week 7: Defensive Giants

The Giants defense is legit, and some regression could be staring down Jaxon Dart and Cam Skattebo with a similarly staunch stop unit on tap in the Broncos.

Most bettors make their NFL Week 7 picks in the 48 hours before kickoff.

That’s just dumb.

By that time, the markets have moved and matured, drying up any possible edge available for football bettors.

If you want to beat your bookie, you need to get the best number for your opinion. That means betting spreads and totals shortly after odds hit the board and waiting for adjustments to buy back a move later in the week.

I help you do just that, giving my best “Bet Now. Bet Later” NFL picks for Week 7.

NFL predictions: Week 7 bet now, bet later picks

  • Steelers (-5.5) at Bengals: Bet Now
  • Rams (-3) at Jaguars: Bet Later
  • Giants at Broncos (Under 41): Bet Now
  • Texans at Seahawks (Over 42): Bet Later

Pittsburgh Steelers (-5.5) at Cincinnati Bengals: Bet Now

I will be the first to say, Thursday games produce weird results. Just look at the last few TNF matchups. Whacko.

If you’re thinking of backing the Pittsburgh Steelers on a short week, grab them now at -5.5 before this spread hits -6 and chugs closer to a touchdown.

Pittsburgh is 4-1 SU, and the defense is starting to stiffen up after a wobbly start to 2025. The Steelers have allowed 21 points or less in three straight, tallying 17 sacks and seven takeaways in those outings.

The Cincinnati Bengals have a quick turnaround for new quarterback Joe Flacco, who just joined the team last week. Cincinnati hung around at Green Bay for most of Week 6, but the defense didn’t have any answers, especially when superstar pass rusher Trey Hendrickson went down with a back injury.

Thursday’s home date with the Steelers doesn’t leave much time for Flacco to build chemistry with his new teammates or give Hendrickson the needed downtime to overcome a bad back injury.

Best odds to bet Steelers -5.5 right now

Los Angeles Rams (-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars: Bet Later

Puka Nacua’s ankle injury will be under the microscope in Week 7 with the Los Angeles Rams star receiver playing through the pain in a low-scoring win at Baltimore.

That question mark has already knocked the vig down on Los Angeles -3, and could force this spread to slide below the key number of a field goal.

If you like the Rams on the road in Week 7, wait and get L.A. below the -3 – if you can. Nacua is a notable loss, but let’s not forget L.A. knows how to play without him after Puka missed most of last season.

On top of that, Sean McVay takes on his former assistant and current Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, Liam Coen. McVay has historically been great against his former underlings during his coaching career.

The Jaguars are coming off a loss to Seattle at home and keep getting caught in tight contests, with the last five games decided by eight points or less. I’ll give McVay the nod in a nail-biter.

New York Giants at Denver Broncos (Under 41): Bet Now

The New York Giants’ offensive rookies Cam Skattebo and Jaxon Dart are stealing the headlines in the Big Apple, but the defense is doing the dirty work.

New York has been a Top 10 team in EPA allowed per play over the past three weeks, with a fierce front seven making rival passers sweat. I do expect regression from Dart and the offense, as this will be just the second road game in four weeks. The G-Men are also ripe for a letdown after smacking the Eagles in the ear hole on Thursday.

As for the Denver Broncos, they couldn’t get out of London fast enough, hoping to leave behind a stinker of a win over the Jets in Week 6. The Broncos still checked New York to just 82 total yards – EIGHTY-TWO! – and have limited their last three foes to 17 points or fewer.

This total sits as high as 41 points, but some books are starting to slip to as low as 39.5 O/U. Go get the key number of 41 – or as close to it – before this number shrinks across the industry.

Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks (Over 42): Bet Later

Monday Night Football in Week 7 promises to be a defensive battle between two of the better stop units in the NFL. However, if this number dips below the key total of 41 points, I see value in buying back the Over later on.

The Houston Texans look to build on a 44-point eruption versus a broken Baltimore defense in Week 5 and had a bye this weekend to focus on fixing this F’d up offense. The 70 points scored in the past two games eclipsed the 38 combined points from the opening three weeks.

The Seattle Seahawks are one of the best two-way teams in the NFC, coming off a solid 20-12 win at Jacksonville. Sam Darnold continues to shine under center, with 878 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception in the last three contests.

With both stop units ranked Top 10 in a few advanced metrics, there’s just cause for this total to drop. If you like the Over, wait and get something south of 41 points.
