Jets vs Ravens Predictions - Early Picks & Odds for Week 12

The Ravens are understandably favored over the Jets, but 13.5 points is way too many. New York has a solid defense, and while the offense stutters, the Jets can still hang. It's also why we like the Under as long as the number doesn't drop.

The Baltimore Ravens will look to push their winning streak to five games when they host the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.

Baltimore is clearly the better team, but with a huge spread, my early Jets vs. Ravens predictions recommend getting your bets in on New York.

Let’s take a look at where I’m leaning early in the week in my free NFL picks for Sunday, November 23.

Jets vs Ravens predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Jets vs Ravens spread pick: Jets +13.5

Even having won two out of their last three, there’s little to be excited about down the stretch for the New York Jets, especially after they traded away key defensive pieces at the deadline. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens are back to their winning ways with a relatively healthy Lamar Jackson at the helm.

But I don’t see any of that information justifying a spread quite this big. You can rarely feel comfortable giving two touchdowns in the NFL, and even less so when dealing with a fairly good defensive team like the Jets.

New York has held four of its last five opponents to 27 points or less. Meanwhile, the Ravens haven’t scored more than 30 points themselves since early September. So while Baltimore probably won’t have much trouble finding some level of offensive success, it isn't about to run up the score.

The only question is whether the Jets will score enough to make that matter. New York is coming off three straight games of scoring at least 14 points, and Baltimore is allowing 25.1 points per game this year.

Getting double-digit points, I’m taking the Jets to cover.

Early Jets vs Ravens total pick: Under 44.5

-105 at FanDuel

This total has been set surprisingly high for two teams that have played low-scoring football over the past month or so.

Baltimore hasn’t finished with a total of more than 46 points since a 44-10 loss to the Houston Texans on Oct. 5. Meanwhile, the Jets have played to 47 points or fewer in four of their last five contests – the one exception being the wild 39-38 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 26.

Despite a few signs of life, the New York offense has been among the worst in the NFL, averaging just 5.1 yards per play and 20.9 PPG.

Justin Fields is getting benched this week in favor of Tyrod Taylor, but he hasn’t impressed in limited work, tossing three touchdowns and three interceptions so far on the year.

The Ravens have been relatively quiet on offense over the past three weeks, scoring 28 points or less in each game.

And while the Jets defense has shed some talent, it kept a talented New England Patriots to 27 points on the road last week. All that has me leaning toward the Under here, though I wouldn’t be comfortable if this number dips more than another point or so.
