Desperate times call for desperate measures, and so the Cincinnati Bengals are turning to veteran Joe Flacco as they try to right the ship against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Given Jake Browning’s struggles filling Joe Burrow’s shoes, Flacco feels like at least a small upgrade, and my Bengals vs. Packers predictions expect plenty of points at Lambeau Stadium.
Green Bay’s slick offense will be ready to feast against an overmatched Cincy defense, and the hosts’ playmakers feature heavily in my NFL picks for this October 12 matchup.

Bengals vs Packers Best bet: Over 44.5 (-110 at FanDuel)
While the Green Bay Packers likely got value from some time off to dissect a rough Week 4 defensive effort, the Green Bay offense would surely have preferred to skip the bye.
Jordan Love racked up 337 passing yards with three TDs against Dallas, and now he’s walking into a tasty showdown with a woeful Cincinnati Bengals defense.
The Bengals have allowed 27+ points in four straight games, while giving up the third-most yards per outings (391.2) and confirming all the preseason fears on that side of the ball. They could be in for a long afternoon on Sunday, with all the options available to Matt LaFleur.
The hosts’ ability to exploit mismatches is the biggest driver in picking the Over here, but the Joe Flacco trade should also be a boost for the Cincy passing attack. He’ll be willing to air it out, and there’s plenty of firepower with the trio of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Chase Brown.
The visitors scored 24 points last weekend against the Detroit Lions and, as good as the Green Bay front seven can be on their day, Micah Parsons and Co. only had one sack against the Cowboys in Week 4.
The Over has been a winning ticket in three of the Bengals’ past four contests, and the Packers have put up 27+ points in three of their four outings this season.

Take your pick of the Green Bay pass-catchers for an Over here, but I like Tucker Kraft to continue his impressive start to the year. Kraft had five catches for 56 yards in Week 4, and he’s had 4+ targets in every game this season.
This is also set up for a big Josh Jacobs performance, particularly if the Packers build a lead. Jacobs had his best stat line of the year against Dallas, with 22 carries for 86 yards and two TDs, and the Bengals are giving up 132.2 rushing yards per game this season.
