The Washington Huskies look to continue their strong start to the season as they visit the Michigan Wolverines at the Big House in Week 8.

Demond Williams is providing the Huskies with tremendous quarterback play, giving Washington a good chance of keeping things close on the road.

Washington vs Michigan prediction

Washington vs Michigan best bet: Washington +5.5 (-104)

The Washington Huskies have the better offense led by the better quarterback, making them an appealing underdog despite having to travel cross-country to the Big House. They’re averaging 39.2 ppg while ranking sixth in success rate with stars at quarterback (Demond Williams), running back (Jonah Coleman), and wide receiver (Denzel Boston).

The Michigan Wolverines offer a test defensively, but not as tough of one as would be expected. They check in at 98th in success rate on that side of the ball, so it’d be a surprise if Washington doesn’t move the ball in this matchup.

Bryce Underwood was a ballyhooed recruit, but right now, he’s still a true freshman quarterback playing for a team with entirely underwhelming pass-catching options. Starting running back Justice Haynes was knocked out of last week’s game in the first half and is considered questionable for Week 8.

The Wolverines very well could win this game at home, but they’ll need to play great in order to cover the spread. Washington is live for a backdoor cover even if they come out flat, given their tremendous quarterback play and Michigan’s perceived inability to pull away in games.

Washington vs Michigan same-game parlay

Denzel Boston has double the targets (48) of any other Washington pass-catcher and will be relied upon heavily on the road. The Wolverines have been beatable through the air, ranking 115th in passing success rate allowed.

Meanwhile, Underwood is averaging 29.5 rushing yards per game and faces a Washington defense that typically doesn’t live in the backfield (117th in front seven havoc), meaning he’s not in as much danger of negative sack yardage.
