The Miami Hurricanes find themselves ranked 13th in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings.
Entering a Week 13 road game against the Virginia Tech Hokies, Mario Cristobal’s squad is not only looking to survive, but it’s hoping to add style points to its resume.

Miami vs Virginia Tech prediction
Miami vs Virginia Tech best bet: Miami Hurricanes -18.5 (-105)
With all the focus on the James Franklin show, I prefer to keep things simple and handicap the two teams that will be on the field Saturday afternoon. The No. 13 Miami Hurricanes are the vastly superior team, and they need style points to boost their chances of an at-large bid in the college football playoffs.
Carson Beck and the offense should have no trouble moving the ball against the Virginia Tech Hokies' defense (130th in EPA per play). The Hokies are soft against both the run (119th in EPA per rush) and the pass (131st in PFF’s coverage grade, 124th in EPA per pass), and a quality offense like Miami should capitalize.
The Hurricanes average 6.3 yards per play and possess the quality along the offensive line (first in front seven havoc, eighth in line yards) to raise their floor in this matchup. They’ll also dominate along the defensive line with game wreckers Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor ready to tee off against a Tech line checking in at 132nd in pass blocking grade (PFF).
The Hokies are 2-8 ATS this season and were just blown out 14-34 by Florida State. The going doesn’t get any easier in Week 13.
Miami vs Virginia Tech same-game parlay

Miami vs Virginia Tech same-game parlay
Carson Beck is fresh off a clinical performance against NC State in which he completed 77.8% of his passes for 291 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. His receiving options are all back healthy now, and this is a very advantageous matchup, so he should continue cooking in Week 13.
Kyron Drones faces an uphill battle against a stout Miami defense, surrendering just 81.8 rushing yards per game on 2.7 yards per carry, and odds are that he’ll lose some yardage on sacks in this matchup.

- Miami Hurricanes -18.5
- Miami Hurricanes TT Over 33.5
- Carson Beck Over 248.5 passing yards

Our deep-ball SGP: Greene with Envy!
If this game plays out as projected, the Hokies will be forced to throw the ball more often than usual. Ayden Greene leads the team in targets (56), receiving yards (421), and touchdowns (3), and would be one of the beneficiaries of an altered game plan by necessity.
