The BYU Cougars are firmly in the Big 12 Championship hunt, and they face a stiff road test on Saturday against the Cincinnati Bearcats.

The Cougars enter this matchup with clear advantages on both sides of the ball, and my BYU vs. Cincinnati predictions expect BYU to pull off the road win.

Read on for my college football picks for Saturday, November 22.

BYU vs Cincinnati prediction

BYU vs Cincinnati best bet: BYU moneyline (-138)

The BYU Cougars is better on both offense and defense, and should beat the Cincinnati Bearcats this Saturday.

The Cougars’ biggest strength is their physical run game, averaging 195 rushing yards per contest behind LJ Martin, who matches up perfectly against a Cincinnati defense allowing 158 rushing yards per game and over 4.0 yards per carry.

BYU’s efficiency on early downs and solid passing offense consistently move the chains, which will keep Cincinnati’s defense on its heels and should open up play-action opportunities for quarterback Bear Bachmeier.

Defensively, BYU is built to shut down what Cincinnati does best. The Cougars allow just 191.5 passing yards per game and only eight passing touchdowns all season, making life difficult for Bearcats quarterback Brendan Sorsby.

Add in BYU’s strong third-down defense (31%), superior turnover production, and overall red-zone efficiency, and the Cougars hold a complete situational edge.
