The BYU Cougars remain squarely in the Big 12 title race, and Saturday’s trip to face the Cincinnati Bearcats will test their staying power.
With advantages on both sides of the ball, my BYU vs. Cincinnati predictions back the Cougars to notch a key road victory.
Read on for my college football picks for Saturday, November 22.
BYU vs Cincinnati prediction
BYU vs Cincinnati best bet: BYU moneyline (-138)
The BYU Cougars is better on both offense and defense, and should beat the Cincinnati Bearcats this Saturday.
The Cougars’ biggest strength is their physical run game, averaging 195 rushing yards per contest behind LJ Martin, who matches up perfectly against a Cincinnati defense allowing 158 rushing yards per game and over 4.0 yards per carry.
BYU’s efficiency on early downs and solid passing offense consistently move the chains, which will keep Cincinnati’s defense on its heels and should open up play-action opportunities for quarterback Bear Bachmeier.
Defensively, BYU is built to shut down what Cincinnati does best. The Cougars allow just 191.5 passing yards per game and only eight passing touchdowns all season, making life difficult for Bearcats quarterback Brendan Sorsby.
Add in BYU’s strong third-down defense (31%), superior turnover production, and overall red-zone efficiency, and the Cougars hold a complete situational edge.

BYU vs Cincinnati same-game parlay
BYU wideout Chase Roberts has cleared his receptions total in three straight games and in six of his previous 10.
Bachmeier might rack up the completions and passing yards, but he’s thrown more than two touchdowns only once in his previous six games.

BYU vs Cincinnati game predictions
BYU vs Cincinnati moneyline prediction
BYU needs to win this game to have a chance at a Big 12 Conference title. They should control both lines of scrimmage, and their defense is built to thwart the Cincinnati Bearcats' passing attack.
BYU vs Cincinnati spread prediction
I’ll lean BYU. They should be able to move the chains offensively while the Cougars' defense is not only stout, but also opportunistic enough (18 takeaways) to win this game by at least a field goal.
BYU vs Cincinnati Over/Under prediction
I’ll lean Under in this one, as we shouldn’t see many points on Saturday night. Cincinnati allows just 22 points per game, and BYU gives up only 17. With three of Cincinnati’s last five games hitting the Under, I’m projecting a low-scoring affair.
