Texas Tech hosts Arizona State in a Week 7 showdown between Big 12 foes in Lubbock, Texas, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX.

My Arizona State vs. Texas Tech prediction is that the Red Raiders take care of business as big home favorites in what should be a blowout.

Find out why in my college football picks for this Saturday, Oct. 17, matchup.

 TOP PICK
Who will win Arizona State vs Texas Tech: Texas Tech -16.5

Texas Tech or nothing, and I'd take the Red Raiders to -19.5.

There is nothing special about this 3-2 Arizona State team. Those three wins aren't worth bragging about: beating Kansas, which has only beaten LIU, a basketball school, and Middle Tennessee State.

They then beat Hawaii at home but failed to cover before wrapping things up against Morgan State. Their two losses to Baylor and Texas A&M came by a combined 64 points. Any quality team should bulldoze the Sun Devils.

That's exactly what Texas Tech will do this weekend by running it down their throats. The Red Raiders are averaging just over 180 rushing yards per game while running the ball nearly 39 times per game this season.

Meanwhile, the Sun Devils have allowed 145 rushing yards per game despite facing just 33 rushing attempts per game.

Expect the Red Raiders to lean heavily on their ground attack, while slowly suffocating the Sun Devils offense with their top-25 scoring defense.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Despite allowing plenty of yards this season, the Texas Tech defense is surrendering just 2.3 points per scoring opportunity.

Arizona State vs Texas Tech Over/Under pick: Over 49.5

Excluding its three wins over far worse teams, Arizona State has given up 55 points to Baylor and 48 points to Texas A&M.

Overall, Arizona State allows 33 points per game, ranking 112th nationally, while surrendering nearly 390 yards per game. That's right around what Texas Tech averages this season. Not to mention, the Red Raiders rank 26th nationally in scoring, averaging more than 35 points per game.

As mentioned above, this Texas Tech team should roll from start to finish. The Sun Devils should help out with this total, as the Red Raiders allow plenty of yards despite doing a great job of limiting points. However, if Arizona State can move the ball and finish drives with touchdowns, this total should sail over.

I'd take this up to 50.5.

Arizona State vs Texas Tech prop: Red Raiders 1H -7.5

If you can get this number at -6.5, or -7, hammer it!

The first half is a great way to get in and get out of this matchup if the Red Raiders run up the score early and then coast in the second half.

As I clearly have no respect for the Sun Devils in this matchup, the Red Raiders should easily be up by more than just seven points at halftime, but always securing that key number feels so much better.

Arizona State vs Texas Tech combo

Backing Texas Tech to take care of an Arizona State team that has not done anything against quality opponents, while adding the over to the equation and getting 4.29x, is well worth the squeeze in my book. I fully expect the Red Raiders to carry the scoring load and hope the Sun Devils can sprinkle in a few late scores to push this over.
