The No. 6 seed TCU Horned Frogs face the No. 3 seed Kansas Jayhawks in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Conference Tournament on Thursday.

The Jayhawks had some ugly performances towards the end of the regular season, but my TCU vs. Kansas predictions expect them to cruise to victory in Kansas City tonight.

Here are my best free college basketball picks for March 12.

TCU vs Kansas prediction

TCU vs Kansas best bet

TCU vs Kansas best bet: Kansas -5.5 (-110)

The TCU Horned Frogs have won six straight, but only one of those came against a Quad 1 opponent.

They pushed the Kansas Jayhawks into overtime at the Phog in January by shooting 15-35 from deep. Considering they're second-last in the conference in 3PT% (32.3%) and Kansas is 10th in the country in 3-point defense (30%), that won't happen again.

TCU's defense is heavily reliant on forcing turnovers and ranks just 13th in conference play in opponent 2PT% (54.2%). They won't stop a Kansas attack that takes care of the ball and has four players averaging more than 13.0 ppg.

TCU vs Kansas same-game parlay

These teams got in a shootout in the first meeting, and TCU had another high-scoring contest last night, but expect a low-scoring game here.

Both teams are significantly better defensively than offensively, with TCU 22nd in the country in adjusted defense and Kansas 11th. TCU is also 5-2 to the Under in its last seven, while the Jayhawks are 14-6 to the Under as favorites this season.

Jayhawks freshman sensation Darryn Peterson scored 32 points in the previous clash, so TCU will focus on getting the ball out of his hands. He's been sharing the ball more lately, dropping 3+ dimes in three straight games.

  • Darryn Peterson Over 4.5 rebounds
