The Hamilton Tiger-Cats take on the Eastern Conference-leading Montreal Alouettes on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET (TSN) from Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Montreal.
With Bo Levi Mitchell still out for Hamilton, the CFL odds have Montreal as an 11.5-point betting favorite, and my Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes predictions and CFL picks project a big win for the home team.
Who will win Tiger-Cats vs Alouettes: Alouettes -11.5 (-110)
Without Bo Levi Mitchell, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' offense has been hard to watch. Hamilton is averaging just 14.7 PPG in its last three outings, and the last time they were on the road against a Grey Cup odds favorite, they were blown out.
This game against the Montreal Alouettes should go pretty similarly to that 38-7 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Als' offense is dominant - No. 2 in PPG (34.7) and No. 1 in yards per game (460.7) - and Hamilton just won't be able to keep up.
With Davis Alexander at the helm, Montreal should be capable of scoring 30+ at home, while Hamilton will likely struggle to put up more than 20. The Tiger-Cats average league lows in PPG (24.8) and yards per game (340.0).
Though this is a large spread for the Alouettes to cover, they're 4-2 ATS this season and have a clear advantage here. However, I'd avoid betting Montreal if this spread goes beyond -12.5.

Tiger-Cats vs Alouettes total prediction: Under 56.5 (-105)
Hamilton cannot score consistently without Mitchell. The Tiger-Cats have the worst offense in the CFL, and have scored fewer than 14 points in two of their last three games - they've hit the Under in three straight.
But it's not just Hamilton's no-show offense that should help the Under hit; its defense has been competent this season. The Tiger-Cats are allowing the third-fewest PPG in the league (26.5) and the fourth-fewest yards (374.2).
If the Tiger-Cats can hold Montreal to fewer than 35 points, their offense should do the rest of the work for the Under.
The Under is worth considering as long as this game total stays above 54.5.
Tiger-Cats vs Alouettes same-game parlay
With the way the Alouettes are playing, they're in good shape to win this game in the range of 34-10. Hamilton's offense is too sporadic without Mitchell, and its defense won't be able to slow Alexander and Tyson Philpot for four quarters.
Even with Mitchell under center in Week 1, Hamilton lost at home to Montreal and failed to cover as a 2.5-point underdog.
