Arizona State is 4-1 this season with their lone loss coming by nine points against highly-ranked Villanova.
San Diego State is 4-0 and is coming off a 65-60 win against Pepperdine on Sunday. The Aztecs were one of the best schools in the nation last year, finishing with a 30-2 record and ranking No. 6 in the country before the NCAA Tournament was canned.
The Aztecs were one of the stingiest defensive teams in the country, holding foes to just 59.2 points per game. Despite losing a few starters, including Mountain West Player of the Year Malachi Flynn, San Diego State returned several crucial pieces led by forward Matt Mitchell and guard Jordan Schakel.
SDSU looks like they will once again be very tough to score against, limiting opponents to 54.3 ppg on 38.3 percent shooting. That will make it tough for Arizona State to cover a 4.5-point spread, especially without their best big man in freshman five-star recruit Marcus Bagley who is expected to sit out with a leg injury.
With the Aztecs 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games against teams with a winning percentage above .600, and the Sun Devils 0-5 ATS in their previous five contests at home, back the road dogs.

Arizona State has a very explosive backcourt led by Josh Christopher and Remy Martin Jr who are both averaging over 17 points per game. Christopher is a highly-regarded freshman who entered as the No. 8 recruit in the class of 2020 according to 247Sports, while Martin is a senior who was named an AP Preseason All-American.
Despite the firepower of those two guards, the O/U might be a tad too high here. The Sun Devils had trouble dictating the flow of the game against Villanova and SDSU does a terrific job of forcing teams to play at their pace.
Out of 302 schools that have played so far this season, the Aztecs rank 265th in possessions per game and they ranked outside the Top-300 in possessions per game last season.
The Aztecs' lockdown defense and average offense have been a recipe for Unders, especially in games they are expected to lose. San Diego State has cashed the Under in 12 of their last 15 games as an underdog. Back it again on Thursday.
