Both teams have been impressive, but Hofstra is set to show why they hold the upper hand over Monmouth in the CAA Championship game.

An automatic bid will be on the line tonight as the Monmouth Hawks take on the Hofstra Pride in the finals of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.

These teams are both coming in hot tonight, but the Pride have been the better team and I’m taking them to cover in my Monmouth vs. Hofstra predictions below.

Keep reading for a full breakdown of tonight’s title clash in my free college basketball picks for Tuesday, March 10.

Monmouth vs Hofstra prediction

Monmouth vs Hofstra best bet

Monmouth vs Hofstra best betHofstra -4.5 (-110)

The Monmouth Hawks come into tonight’s game having won five straight games, while the Hofstra Pride have won six in a row.

But Hofstra is clearly the team to beat tonight, and not just because they’ve already beaten Monmouth twice this year.

Hofstra has an elite scorer in Cruz Davis (20.5 ppg) who can take over games. Not only does Monmouth lack that scoring punch, but the Pride are simply better on both sides of the ball, with KenPom.com rating them in the top 100 nationally both offensively and defensively.

With a small spread, I’m taking Hofstra to cover.

I’ll take Hofstra guard German Plotnikov (9.3 ppg) to hit his points Over, as he’s stepped up to score 15+ points in three of his last five games.

Along with Plotnikov’s points total, I also like Cruz Davis to dish out with him averaging 4.6 assists per game this season.

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
