The Duke Blue Devils escaped against Florida State yesterday and now meet the defensive-minded Clemson Tigers.

Yesterday verified a lot of my thoughts about how this new, for the moment, injured Duke team would look. I’m attacking the viewpoint that Cameron Boozer will continue to see a facilitation uptick.

Read why I like the freshman phenom to drop some dimes in my Duke vs. Clemson predictions and college basketball picks below.

Duke vs Clemson prediction

Duke vs Clemson best bet

Duke vs Clemson best bet: Cameron Boozer Over 4.5 assists (+122)

Once bitten, twice shy? Not here. I’m running this back.

Yesterday’s hook was brutal, but the matchup still points in the same direction. Cameron Boozer should operate as the primary point forward for the Duke Blue Devils in what projects to be a half-court game.

This Clemson Tigers defense is vulnerable to perimeter cuts, allowing about 0.90 points per possession on those actions, which is something Duke attacks extremely well.

Boozer is typically the facilitator when those cuts develop. Add the situational angle that backup point guard Cayden Boozer was barely playable yesterday, which should push even more creation through Cam.

Duke vs Clemson same-game parlay

The Duke defense was poor yesterday. At one point deep into the first half, Florida State was scoring at 1.3 points per possession. Injuries play a significant role in that decline for several reasons. With that in mind, I think Clemson will get its buckets.

I expect the Tigers to do so by cutting bigs to the basket, which is a spot where Duke has struggled defensively even when healthy. I paired Dillon Hunter with my best bet for that reason. He’s almost the only facilitator for these actions on Clemson's roster.

Duke vs Clemson SGP

  • Cameron Boozer Over 4.5 assists
  • Dillon Hunter Over 2.5 assists

Our beyond the arc SGP: Tigers won't back down

Cayden Boozer shot a season-high for three-point attempts yesterday, mostly because Florida State refused to guard him.

I'm simply betting on the increased volume from Boozer in this matchup, again with Clemson employing a similar strategy. It’s worth throwing him in this longshot parlay as a flier.

I paired this with Clemson to cover. I was close to the market on this number after injury adjustments, but after seeing how the two teams played yesterday, it's hard to envision a scenario where Clemson can't stay competitive.

Duke vs Clemson SGP

  • Clemson +10.5
  • Dillon Hunter Over 2.5 assists
  • Cameron Boozer Over 4.5 assists
  • Cayden Boozer Over 0.5 threes

Duke vs Clemson odds

  • Spread: Duke -10.5 | Clemson +10.5
  • Moneyline: Duke -700 | Clemson +450
  • Over/Under: Over 133.5 | Under 133.5
