The Clemson Tigers travel to face the North Carolina Tar Heels with an extra day of rest at stake. The winner moves into position for the coveted double-bye in next week’s ACC Tournament, while the loser plays an extra game in the tourney.

The Tar Heels have not done well as a favorite, covering just one of their last four when giving points. Clemson, meanwhile, has won three of its last five Quad I games, both straight up and ATS.

Our Clemson vs. North Carolina predictions and college basketball picks see Clemson getting the road cover on Tuesday, March 3.

Clemson vs North Carolina prediction

Clemson vs North Carolina best bet: Clemson +3.5 (-105)

The North Carolina Tar Heels will once again be without power forward Caleb Wilson.

The freshman star will miss his sixth straight game. It comes against a Clemson Tigers team that has three 6-foot-10 players in the rotation. The Tigers got 40% of their offensive rebound opportunities last game and 80% on the defensive boards.

The Tar Heels are also fighting the distraction of Duke week. They’ll play the rivalry game rematch on Saturday, but tonight's Clemson game is the one that will determine the tournament seedings.

Clemson has the size advantage, a more efficient defense, and a stronger perimeter.

Clemson vs North Carolina same-game parlay

Clemson, at 329th, ranks among the slowest teams in the country. Meanwhile, it's not like the Tar Heels are running a track meet, as they sit 153rd in pace. The Heels have gone Under in three of their last four and in five of seven.

Jestin Porter is Clemson’s third scoring option, meaning he should find some space as UNC isolates other threats on the wing and inside. He’s averaging 9.9 points this season and had 16 against Louisville last game.

Our beyond the arc SGP: Size Matters

We’ll forgo the points to take Clemson outright in our lotto parlay. Like Porter, RJ Godfrey has plus-money odds for reaching his season average. The 6-foot-8 presence had seven boards against Louisville and eight against Duke in the last four games.

We’ll also take UNC’s seven-footer Henri Veesaar to come within two of his rebounding average. He had five double-doubles in six games before getting hurt and had seven in his last game, as he appears to be rounding back into form.
