The Minnesota Timberwolves host the San Antonio Spurs in a clash of Western Conference heavyweights on Sunday as Top-4 seeds go head-to-head at Target Center.

Both teams are playing their second games in as many days, and my Spurs vs. Timberwolves predictions and NBA picks expect the visiting team to come away with an upset win on the road.

Spurs vs Timberwolves prediction

Spurs vs Timberwolves best bet: Spurs moneyline (+125)

Both teams are playing the second legs of back-to-back sets, and while the Minnesota Timberwolves have home-court advantage, the San Antonio Spurs have the advantage of depth. The Spurs have rolled with Victor Wembanyama out or coming off the bench, so his availability doesn't much impact this pick.

Both Anthony Edwards (foot) and Julius Randle (thumb) were questionable on Saturday, so the pair may get a maintenance day. Minnesota’s roster is not nearly as deep as San Antonio’s, so injuries for the home team will be far more impactful on the outcome of the game.

Straight up, the Spurs are 13-6 as the road team and 6-3 as the road underdog this season. San Antonio is 9-9-1 ATS on the road and 6-3 as the road dog. The Wolves are 14-6 at home but just 9-11 ATS. With such a small line, it makes more sense to bet San Antonio outright.

The Spurs have won three of their last four on the road, with big wins over the Celtics and Thunder. With one or both of Minnesota's top options banged up and potentially sidelined, I'll bet on the deeper and younger team to get it done on the road.

Spurs vs Timberwolves same-game parlay

The Wolves have cashed the Over in seven of their last 10, but today's tilt with San Antonio will be a lower-scoring affair. Both teams are playing with no rest, which could lead to a slower pace. The Wolves are 7-13 to the Under at home, while the Spurs are 9-10 to the Over on the road. Potential rest or limitations for stars on both sides could lessen the offensive firepower, making me lean Under on a lofty point total.

Keldon Johnson is scoring 13.7 points per game this season, and he's delivered 13+ in 19 of 38 games, including 11 of 20 on the road. He's reached that mark in three straight and five of his last six appearances, and he dropped 22 at Minnesota in his first matchup of the season.

Our "from downtown" SGP: DiVincenzo from deep!

The Spurs have allowed the seventh-most triples across their last 10 games, and Donte DiVincenzo is averaging three per game this season. He's knocking down 3.2 at home, and he's hit 4+ in 17 of 39 games this season. DiVincenzo hit four triples in his first matchup with the Spurs this season, and he could see more run if Edwards or Randle are limited.
