Expert NBA preseason moneyline predictions for October 11

Mavericks vs Rockets: Rockets Rockets

Trade 53% at Polymarket

The Houston Rockets ran out to a 135-117 win over the Dallas Mavericks in Macao on Friday.

I'm expecting more of the same on Sunday morning, especially as the NBA has made a point of having its teams run out consistent lineups that include starters for its China Games.

Magic vs Cavaliers: Cavaliers Cavaliers

Trade 65% at Polymarket

The Cleveland Cavaliers limited their starters in their first preseason game on Wednesday, with Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and company playing just 17 minutes each.

Cleveland should extend its key players, while the Orlando Magic have several questions when it comes to availability on Sunday, with Jalen Suggs, Anthony Black, Noah Penda and Jonathan Isaac all having reasons to potentially sit this one out.

That has me backing Cleveland for Sunday's matchup.

Bucks vs Hornets: Bucks Bucks

...      Trade 41% at Polymarket

The Milwaukee Bucks pulled off a two-point win against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, with Myles Turner leading five players who scored in double digits while playing over 20 minutes each.

With the Charlotte Hornets coming off a 34-point loss in their preseason opener, I'm backing the Bucks to win.

Bulls vs Nuggets: Nuggets Nuggets

Trade 73% at Polymarket

The Denver Nuggets have showcased their depth in their first two preseason games, while Nikola Jokic has demonstrated his incredible passing ability.

The Chicago Bulls have also been digging deep into their bench this preseason, but they’ve given significantly more minutes to players who are unlikely to see much action during the regular season.

With that in mind, I’m picking Denver to come away with the win on Sunday.

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
