If ever there was an NBA showdown to pull some eyeballs away from the NFL playoffs, it’s the battle between Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs and Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at Target Center.
That’s not the end of the star power in today’s 10-game slate, which also features Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Kevin Durant, but my favorite NBA picks include two players who excel at doing the unsung work for their teams.
Check out my Top 3 NBA player props for January 11.

Prop #1: Bam Adebayo Over 11.5 rebounds+assists
It’s been a strange year for Bam Adebayo. He’s averaging 16.8 points per game — his lowest mark since the 2019-20 season — and yet he’s still an integral figure for the Miami Heat on both ends of the floor.
While his points prop isn’t on my radar, I’m jumping on this combo Over tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder, with Adebayo going past this number in six of his last seven games.
Naturally, his work on the glass will be the driver for this prop. Bam has finished with at least nine boards in 10 of his last 11 outings, despite sharing the floor at times with rebounding machine Kel’el Ware.
Bam also plays a key role as a connector in this offense. He’s dished three or more dimes in five of his last seven contests, and Miami will need his steady decision-making to break through OKC’s stingy defense here.

Prop #2: Dillon Brooks Over 3.5 rebounds
Dillon Brooks is surpassing all expectations in his first season with the Phoenix Suns, and I’m expecting another impactful outing here against the Washington Wizards.
Brooks is averaging 21.3 ppg — easily the best mark of his career — but I prefer the Over on his rebounds tally tonight. He’s grabbed at least four boards in four straight contests, and he ended up with seven rebounds in Friday’s victory over the New York Knicks.
There’s a solid floor for this pick, too. Brooks has hauled in fewer than three rebounds in just one of his past nine games.
Washington was outrebounded 51-40 last time out against the New Orleans Pelicans, and this prop offers great value for Brooks to continue his strong work on the glass.

Prop #3: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 29.5 points
Giannis Antetokounmpo has led the Bucks to a 6-2 record in their last eight games, and while his defensive plays against LeBron James caught the eye on Friday, I’m zoned in on his scoring tonight against a Denver Nuggets team missing Nikola Jokic.
The paint should be wide open for Antetokounmpo in this matchup, and he’s scored 30+ points in four of his past five games, including a 37-point clinic against the Sacramento Kings.
Giannis is shooting a whopping 65% from the field this season, and he seems to be back in peak rhythm after his injury layoff. As usual, he should be able to pad his point total with trips to the free-throw line, and it’s a big ask for Aaron Gordon to handle this assignment.
