Magic vs Spurs Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight's NBA Game

The Spurs are a generational Under run, and with the team likely to be sluggish following travel issues, that trend will continue against Orlando.

The San Antonio Spurs will try to bounce back from a road loss to the Charlotte Hornets on a short turnaround as they host the Orlando Magic tonight.

San Antonio has been hitting the Under at an astounding rate, and I’m backing that trend to continue in my Magic vs. Spurs predictions.

Keep reading for a full analysis of tonight’s matchup in my free NBA picks for Sunday, February 1.

Magic vs Spurs prediction

Magic vs Spurs best bet: Under 224 (-110)

The San Antonio Spurs are dealing with an unusual situation.

Not only are they traveling home for the second game of a back-to-back, but they’re doing so after weather conditions prevented the team from flying out of Charlotte last night.

That led the NBA to push back tip-off by three hours, but even so, San Antonio is only traveling back on Sunday morning.

That alone would be enough for me to suspect we’ll see a slower, sluggish performance out of the Spurs. Even in ideal conditions, San Antonio hasn’t been a team that’s been pushing the pace of playing to big totals.

The Under has a 31-18 record in Spurs games this season, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. That gap has essentially all come since New Year's, as San Antonio has hit the Under in an incredible 14 of its last 15 games.

The Spurs have played to totals of 220 points or less in four of their last five outings, and even the Orlando Magic — generally a team that plays to slightly higher totals — have hit the Under in three of their last five.

Magic vs Spurs same-game parlay

Given my expectations of a low-scoring game and the travel issues for the Spurs, I’m going to take the Magic to cover, especially as San Antonio is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games.

I’m also backing Desmond Bane (19.3 ppg) to score Over 18.5 points, a total he’s hit in five straight games.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
