The Los Angeles Lakers will have a key player back in the lineup as they continue their East Coast road trip against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night.

With Luka Doncic back in the lineup, I like Los Angeles to cover the spread in my Lakes vs. 76ers predictions.

Keep reading to take a closer look at tonight’s matchup in my free NBA picks for Sunday, December 7.

Lakers vs 76ers prediction

Lakers vs 76ers best betLakers -4 (-105)

The Los Angeles Lakers have lost two of their last three games, but two of those games came without superstar Luka Doncic, who was off for the birth of his daughter, Olivia.

Obviously, this is a different team with Doncic on the floor. The 26-year-old is leading the NBA with 35.3 ppg, while also averaging 8.9 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game.

Having him back immediately makes every matchup more difficult for the Philadelphia 76ers while lengthening the Los Angeles rotation, especially with Marcus Smart out with a muscle strain and LeBron James remaining questionable.

But it’s not just the return of Luka that should have Lakers fans confident going into tonight’s game. Los Angeles’ 126-105 loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday came in the second game of a back-to-back, and a day off should have the Lakers in better shape tonight.

The 76ers have played solid basketball this year – they’re riding a three-game winning streak right now – but this Lakers team is special with Doncic back in the lineup.

Without a healthy Joel Embiid (questionable with a left knee injury), Philadelphia will struggle to keep up with the scoring punch of Doncic and Austin Reaves (29.3 ppg). I’m taking the Lakers to cover.

Lakers vs 76ers same-game parlay

The biggest advantage the Lakers have tonight is the return of a healthy and rested Luka Doncic, and that’s what I’m targeting for my SGP in this game.

Doncic is averaging 55.1 PRA this year, making him a good bet to hit his Over tonight, which should also help lift the total to the Over, something the Lakers have hit in six straight games.

Lakers vs 76ers SGP

  • Lakers -4.5
  • Over 233.5
  • Luka Doncic Over 49.5 points + rebounds + assists

Our "from downtown" SGP: Doncic messes around

Already with one triple-double on the year, well-rested, and averaging nearly nine rebounds and assists per game, I’m taking a flyer on Doncic to get another triple double tonight as part of a longshot SGP.

Lakers vs 76ers SGP

  • Lakers -4.5
  • Over 233.5
  • Luka Doncic Over 49.5 points + rebounds + assists
  • Luka Doncic to record a triple-double

Lakers vs 76ers odds

  • Spread: Los Angeles -4 (-105) | Philadelphia +4 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Los Angeles -165 | Philadelphia +140

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
