Gary Trent Jr. has stepped up his scoring since CJ McCollum went down with injury, averaging 16.4 points per game while shooting almost 43 percent from beyond the arc.

If you like betting NBA Overs, then the James Harden experience with the Brooklyn Nets is for you. The Nets are on an incredible Over run, not only thanks to their incredible offense but to a "defense is optional" mentality as well.

This NBA betting trend is front and center as the Nets host the Los Angeles Clippers tonight. We break down the NBA odds for that game and more with our best free NBA picks and predictions for Tuesday, February 2.

NBA Picks for Today

Los Angeles Clippers vs Brooklyn Nets

To put it simply, the Brooklyn Nets have been getting buckets ever since Harden joined the squad. But as easy as scoring has come for the Nets it has been just as easy for opposing teams and as a result, the Nets have been one of the best Over bets in recent memory. Will that trend hold true when they host the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday night?

The Nets are on an incredible Over run for bettors, going 15-1 O/U in their last 16 games, which includes 8-1 since Harden has shown up. And that shouldn’t be much of a surprise: The Nets have a 120.5 offensive rating since acquiring Harden, which would be tops in the NBA, and at the same time, they have a 118 defensive rating, which ranks dead last.

The Clippers are no slouches on offense as well, ranking third in offensive rating and are close to full strength with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both returning to the lineup. And while the Clippers have some solid defensive numbers, they are middle of the pack when it comes to opponent field goal percentage.

A number this high shouldn’t scare you: The Nets have had a total of 240 or higher six times this season—and the Over has cashed five times. There was nearly 300 points scored in regulation in the last Nets game, so we’ll keep riding the Over until they start slowing down.

PREDICTION: Los Angeles-Brooklyn Over 243.5 (-110)

Portland Trail Blazers vs Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards are fresh off of Reggie Miller-ing the Nets, scoring eight points in the final 8.1 seconds of Sunday’s 149-146 victory and they’ll look to carry that momentum into Tuesday’s matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Whether or not the Wizards are able to win two games in a row for just the second time this season, tonight’s matchup with the Blazers should be another high-scoring affair. Washington and Portland rank third and sixth in the NBA in scoring, while also ranking 28th and 29th, respectively, in defensive rating.

But our favorite bet in this game isn’t the Over, it’s a player prop. Blazers guard Gary Trent Jr. has stepped up in CJ McCollum’s absence, averaging 16.4 points, which includes shooting 42.9 percent from long range on 9.4 attempts per game, over his last five contests.

With that shaky-at-best Wizards defense, we are loving Trent Jr.’s point total of 15.5.

PREDICTION: Gary Trent Jr. Over 15.5 Points (-120)

Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors

The Boston Celtics have rarely been at full health this season, but they’ll be close when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.

The Celtics will be looking to build some chemistry in this matchup after dropping five of their last seven games, including two in a row, while the Warriors have won three of their last four games. But one area the Celtics should have an advantage in this game is on the glass.

The Warriors rank 27th in rebounding percentage and dead last in opponent rebounds per game, while the Celtics rank 10th in rebounding percentage. That means we are loving Jaylen Brown to go Over his rebounding total in this one.

Brown is coming off a weird one-rebound performance against the Lakers, but he averages 5.4 rebounds per game on the season and that number has bumped up to 6.0 in the last 10 games. This is a nice spot for him to go Over.

PREDICTION: Jaylen Brown Over 5.5 Rebounds (-130)
