The Oklahoma City Thunder will try to rebound from only their second loss of the season when they host the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.

The line tonight is scary, but OKC has been taking care of business as a huge favorite this year, so I’m taking it to cover again in my Clippers vs. Thunder predictions and NBA picks below.

Clippers vs Thunder prediction

Clippers vs Thunder best bet: Thunder -17.5 (-110)

It’s difficult to ever feel comfortable giving 17.5 points in an NBA matchup, but it’s also hard to bet against the Oklahoma City Thunder now, especially when they play their weakest opponents.

While OKC has been a double-digit favorite against almost everyone it has played, it’s been especially impressive against the bottom of the league, covering four straight times when favored by 15+ points.

The Los Angeles Clippers certainly profile as a team that can help the Thunder maintain that streak. Not only is L.A. 6-20 on the year, but this team is 8-18 against the spread.

The Clippers lost to OKC at home by 19 earlier this season, showing that night that they had absolutely no answer either for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (who scored 30 points in 29 minutes) or the impressive depth the Thunder bring to the table.

It goes without saying, but the Thunder are a special team. They are by far the league’s best defensive team (101.9 defensive efficiency), while also being one of the most efficient teams on the offensive end as well. Few teams can match up against them at all, let alone a Clippers squad that allows opponents to shoot 39% from 3-point range.

L.A. may try to slow this game to a crawl, but that won’t be enough to keep them in it. The Thunder should bounce back with a blowout win and cover for their bettors tonight.

Clippers vs Thunder same-game parlay

I’ve already talked about how the Clippers will try to slow this game down, but I don’t think it’ll be enough, as the first meeting between these teams finished with a total of 233 points, and the Thunder have only played below tonight’s total in one of their last seven games overall.

With that in mind, I’m also taking SGA to hit his PRA total, as he’s averaging 43.4 PRA per game on the year.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
