The two best European players on the court right now — because Nikola Jokic remains sidelined and Luka Doncic’s Lakers tenure is largely middling thus far — will face each other tonight.

Obviously, Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs have the edge over the Milwaukee Bucks, but do not doubt Giannis Antetokounmpo.

My Bucks vs. Spurs predictions certainly do not.

Bucks vs Spurs prediction

Bucks vs Spurs best bet: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 28.5 points (-112)

Giannis Antetokounmpo fell short of 30 points for just the second time in seven games on Tuesday night against the Timberwolves, but that was mostly because he took only 13 shots in an utter blowout.

The Milwaukee Bucks trailed by 18 after one quarter and by 31 at halftime, so some ambivalence amid boos from the home crowd was natural.

Antetokounmpo has scored at least 30 points in every game since returning from a calf injury when he took 17 or more shots. The Bucks need that kind of volume from him tonight.

Don’t underestimate his desire to produce with that workload. Antetokounmpo rarely responds to fan disappointment, but he did on Tuesday.

He’ll likely try to put it behind him quickly, especially when facing Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.

Bucks vs Spurs same-game parlay

Antetokounmpo is never a 3-point specialist, and given Victor Wembanyama’s length, those looks should be even scarcer tonight.

The "Greek Freak" has scored at least 30 points three times without hitting a 3-pointer in his last seven games. Two of those games cashed their Unders.

Douglas Farmer spends his days thinking about college football and his nights thinking about the NBA. His betting habits and coverage follow that same pattern. He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
