The Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies know a thing or two about superstars missing games, and that’s still a hot topic as these teams collide tonight at FedExForum.
While Joel Embiid is listed as questionable with knee and ankle issues, and Ja Morant is set for his third game back after an ankle injury, my 76ers vs. Grizzlies predictions focus on another big name who’s been a steady bucket-getter.

76ers vs Grizzlies best bet: Jaren Jackson Jr. Over 20.5 points (-120)
It’s been another turbulent season for the Memphis Grizzlies, but Jaren Jackson Jr. is doing his best to steady the ship. He’s appeared in 30 of the Grizzlies’ 32 games, and is in the middle of a strong scoring push to keep his team within range of the .500 mark.
JJJ finished with 31 points on 11-for-25 shooting in Sunday’s disappointing loss to the Washington Wizards, and he’s now gone past this O/U number in six of his last seven outings. This line feels too low, and I’m jumping on the value for tonight’s matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Ja Morant’s return certainly helps. Instead of creating all of his opportunities himself, Jackson is walking into open looks when his point guard attacks the paint, and he’s also found his stroke from beyond the arc, making 16 of his past 34 attempts from deep.
The 76ers are sweating on Joel Embiid’s availability, and they’re coming off a blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where they gave up 129 points.
Andre Drummond certainly won’t want to be matched up with Jackson on the perimeter, and I see the former Defensive Player of the Year cashing in with another efficient scoring night here.

76ers vs Grizzlies same-game parlay
The Under has been a solid pick for both these teams in their last 10 games, particularly for the Grizzlies, who are 6-3-1 in that span. While Memphis has been erratic offensively, the 76ers have scored fewer than 110 points in three straight contests. Whether Embiid plays or not, I see the total tilting toward the Under.
VJ Edgecombe has had an explosive start to his NBA career, but he’s still finding his role in a full-strength Philly rotation. With Tyrese Maxey and Paul George dominating possessions, I’ll take the Under on this Edgecombe prop, with the rookie scoring 10 points in each of his last two games.

Our "from downtown" SGP: Coward Knows Ball
Speaking of rookies, Cedric Coward is another first-year player who looks like a future stud, and he’s scored 13+ points in four of his past five contests. Coward is shooting 49% from the field this month, and I see him chipping in with another efficient effort here.
