Twins vs Tigers Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today’s MLB Game

The Detroit Tigers currently top the American League with a 51-31 record and own a healthy 9.5-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians for first place in the AL Central.

However, it hasn’t necessarily been smooth sailing for the Tigers of late. Detroit is 6-6 over its last 12 games with an average total of 12 runs while hitting Over 8.5 in 10 of those contests.

With Sawyer Gipson-Long taking the mound tonight, we’ll likely see more of the same. The 27-year-old was recalled from the injury list earlier this month and has struggled to find his rhythm.

The Minnesota Twins likely won’t fare much better on the mound this evening. With no starting pitcher named, we’ll probably see a bullpen game for the Twins, who rank 22nd in the MLB with a 4.33 bullpen ERA.

Minnesota has eclipsed a total of 8.5 runs in seven of its last eight games, allowing 7.25 runs per contest through that span.

The Tigers, meanwhile, own the fifth-best offense in the majors (5.00 runs per game) and have been even hotter over the last 15 days, averaging 6.25 runs per game.

Riley Greene is hitting .500 over the last seven days, boasting a team-leading six RBI and 20 total bases. He’s recorded multiple bases in 12 of 23 games this month and should help lead the charge for Detroit tonight.

After their massive 13-game win streak last month, the Twins have just three victories over their last 14 outings, so I expect the Tigers’ superior offense to give them the edge.
