Tigers vs Rangers Prediction, Picks & Best Bets — Sunday Night Baseball, July 20

The Tigers have lost six in a row but send Tarik Skubal to the mound against the Rangers to stop the bleeding. He'll do that and then some deep in the heart of Texas on Sunday Night Baseball.

Tigers vs Rangers best bet analysis

The losing streak ends tonight for the Detroit Tigers with lefty Tarik Skubal toeing the rubber. He’s turned in a tidy 2.23 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and 2.35 xFIP with an impressive 33.4 strikeout rate to lead the way as the betting favorite in the Cy Young odds.

The Texas Rangers have also been a mess against southpaws, with a 27th-ranked .275 wOBA and the ninth-highest strikeout percentage (24.3%). Texas also has Jacob Latz making a spot start, and he’s only started three games in his career. The 29-year-old lefty will be in tough, too.

The Detroit lineup has teed off on lefties with a fourth-ranked .332 wOBA and sixth-ranked .174 ISO.

Tigers vs Rangers same-game parlay analysis

Turning to the final two legs of the SGP, Detroit batters Javier Baez and Spencer Torkelson have both had their way against left-handed pitchers this season.

Baez sports a rock-solid .372 wOBA, .856 OPS, and Torkelson has been even better with respective .414 and 1.027 marks. Torkelson has also been dialed in with an overall .388 wOBA and .913 OPS since the calendar flipped to July.

While Baez hasn’t been nearly as impressive, there’s statistical correction ahead of his .240 BABIP for the month, considering he posted a .337 mark to start the year.
