The Los Angeles Dodgers laid an egg in the World Series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Even so, Shohei Ohtani still had a productive game with a homer, a walk, and a pair of RBI.

Heating up now that the games matter most, Ohtani’s success should continue in Game 2 tonight.

Let’s break down the Shohei Ohtani odds with my MLB picks for Saturday, October 25.

Shohei Ohtani prop pick

Shohei Ohtani best bet:  Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 total bases (-120 at BetMGM)

Shohei Ohtani hasn’t had the most consistent postseason run, but he is heading in the right direction.

The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar has gone over his total bases line in three consecutive games, generating a whopping 19 bases in doing so.

When he makes contact with the ball, he really makes contact.

Ohtani is in a good spot to build on his recent success against Kevin Gausman. The veteran righty throws the fastball or splitter more than 95% of the time when facing left-handed bats.

Isolating those two pitches thrown by righties, Ohtani has posted an average exit velocity of 101.2 and a 32% barrel rate over his last 25 at-bats.

Insane power.

Ohtani has hit for a lot more power vs. righties all year (.378 ISO vs. .275 ISO) and also has a good track record against Toronto Blue Jays relievers, sporting a .312 ISO against their bullpen arms.

Not to mention, Ohtani has teed off on Toronto in recent years. He has averaged 3.2 total bases and cleared this line in 10 of his past 13 head-to-head meetings.

Shohei Ohtani same-game parlay

Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 total bases

Shohei Ohtani Over 0.5 runs

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5

Ohtani scored at least one run in 61% of his games this year. Given all the talent behind him, he’s more likely than not to cash in at some point – especially if he helps his own cause by clearing his bases line.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto has allowed more than a single run once since August 24th. He’s likely to give the Blue Jays all they can handle and we should expect a better offensive performance from the Dodgers this time around.
