It’s an interleague tilt at Petco Park with the Kansas City Royals visiting the San Diego Padres tonight.

San Diego veteran Nick Pivetta has been extremely sharp at home, while Kansas City right-hander Michael Lorenzen has struggled on the highway.

My Royals vs. Padres predictions expect the home team to prevail in front of the Friar faithful.

Royals vs Padres prediction

My Royals vs Padres best bet: Padres moneyline (-150 at Pinnacle)

There has been a move to the Kansas City Royals side of this moneyline, and I just don’t agree with it.

The San Diego Padres are 21-12 at home, and Royals righty Michael Lorenzen sports a suspect 4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP, including respective 5.94 and 1.43 marks on the road.

Additionally, Kansas City ranks 27th in wOBA and 28th in ISO against right-handed pitching. The Friars have veteran Nick Pivetta slated to start, and he’s been sharp at home with a 2.40 ERA and 0.85 WHIP.

Take San Diego to prevail at Petco tonight.

Royals vs Padres same-game parlay (SGP)

Padres moneyline

Nick Pivetta Under 2.5 earned runs

Bobby Witt Jr. Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Pivetta's strikeout numbers also skyrocket at home, boosting a 10.23 K/9 and 30.1 K% compared to 9.71 and 25.3% marks on the highway.

The 32-year-old righty has also held opposing lineups to two earned runs or fewer in six of eight starts at Petco.

Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. has a splash of statistical correction ahead against right-handed pitchers and is heating up during a 7-for-15 stretch at the dish with six runs and a pair of RBI.

Witt crushed righties the past two years with a .381 wOBA, .246 ISO, and .907 OPS, so I expect better times ahead given his respective .347, .212, and .816 marks in 2025.
